Bleeding after Covid Vaccine

GraceLondon91 · 04/09/2021 16:44

I got the MRNA Vaccine at 17 weeks pregnant, no side effects but 2 days later started bleeding which lasted a week. Got checked out at hospital, who said it was a cervical bleed, possible hormonal changes etc

I have since read online a lot of women (not pregnant also) getting this side effect or other period changes after the vaccine as a temporary side effect

I'm now worried/unsure as to whether get shot number two

anyone had similar experience?

thanks!

Hey @GraceLondon91. I’m sorry you didn’t get any replies at the time you went through this. And I really hope things worked out well for you.

I’ve just booked my second vaccine and will be 12 weeks at that point - really scared as I bled loads after my first vaccine (before pregnancy). May I ask, did your bleeding stop in the end? X

I was 14w when I got my first and didn’t bleed but got my second the other day at 22w and bled 24 hours later for a short while. I called the midwives and didn’t mention the vaccine and they said it was probably a cervical bleed. I was actually diagnosed at 16w with cervical ectopy so don’t know if the vaccine contributed but baby is still kicking away.
