Palpitations 14 weeks pregnant

Hi all, im 14 weeks pregnant tomorrow and for the past few days my heart has been faster than normal, maybe at the 90s. I had to come off a beta blocker due to the pregnancy, lately it's been skipping beats & fast runs of multiple beats in a row which freak me out. I suffered ectopic beats before pregnancy and had 24hr ecg which caught 4000 of them, but doctor didn't deem it necessary for a heart scan. Just kind of looking for reassurance it's just scary when the beats come together and go rapid for a few seconds, thanks.

4000 ectopic beats a day are considered to be fairly harmless. It’s really common to have palpitations during pregnancy. I would contact your GP and they can organise an ecg and even another 24 hour one if they think it’s needed. It’s unlikely to find anything more serious than the ectopic beats you already know about but it’s better to be safe and get it checked out.

@WorriedNHSer thanks for the reply, it's just a horrible feeling when u feel them beat together with no pause! Have u had them?

Hi, I would say definitely get them checked out just to be on the safe side, but I had palpitations quite often through my pregnancy and was totally fine. Baby was fine too.
Hope it all goes well!

I never, ever get palpations or ectopic beats and then between 26-28 weeks had both all day, every day. It was terrifying! After I had had them the for 24hrs I went to the pregnancy unit where me and the baby were checked over (had an ECG) and was told everything was fine - just standard pregnancy rubbish.

At 28 weeks it just randomly stopped and haven't had anything like it since (nearly 32 weeks now). It was so horrible and you can't relax! Definitely get checked over as they can refer you to a specialist if needed x

Thank you girls, it's nice to know other people have it but rubbish that you both have dealt with it. I feel my doctor doesn't take me serious it's so annoying! Did any of you have the multiple beats in a row? It's them that freak me out the most x

My heart would randomly race if that's the same thing? Usually when I was trying to wind down for bed, at least that's when I remember them being the worst, baby brain is in full force at the moment!

@MissLC mines does race but only way to describe it is like a ping pong match in my chest lol when I feel my pulse it's just beatbeatbeat no beat pause beat pause. I'll message my gp on Monday anyway but doubt I'll get far. Thanks for your responses and hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. X
