I know for some this will be good news but for me it going to be absolute hell (I love my husband but the thought of 10 weeks of paperwork with only him for company is dire). Apparently my local council only decided this today and I hit the third trimester on Sunday so all very short notice!

I only have 3 weeks left till due date but I'm wfh since yesterday. I don't have a timetable though and teach secondary so am making resources etc.
I think it's great that your school are taking your safety so seriously 😃

All our third trimester teachers are WFH but they knew this at the end of last year. It's massively helpful for us actually as we've got a new curriculum and there's a lot they can do to tweak and improve that, and they're all happy with the arrangement. Win win all round.

Your working situation should be informed by a personalised risk assessment and you shouldn't be forced to work from home if you don't want to (although it would be wise to consider home working certainly towards the end of the third trimester) so if you are keen not to work from home then do have a conversation with your line manager and see if you can come to a compromise.
Personally I am choosing to continue face to face work until 34 weeks (I work in a patient facing role in hospitals) and this was the agreed outcome after discussing my risk assessment.
Your trade union may be able to provide additional support on this topic.
Let us know how you get on!
