Hi everyone.
I'm 35+5 weeks today.
I had a scan last night due to reduced fetal movements but all seemed good thank goodness!
Baby has been measuring quite a bit ahead this whole pregnancy.
Was tested for gestational diabetes at 21 weeks which was to early as you are to be tested usually after 24 weeks (hospitals own mistake) and tests came back clear, have been asking to be tested again for it but they won't take me.
I'm 35+5 and baby is measuring 7 pounds according to scan, I know these aren't always accurate but my last baby was 9 pounds natural birth and his estimated weight was 7 and a half pounds when I got a scan the night before I gave birth and I ended up with bad tearing so you can see why i am nervous at the fact baby is weighing 7 pounds and I have another 4 weeks to go!!
Anyone any experience with this? Can I ask for a early sweep around 38 weeks etc.

Tearing isn't necessarily down to the size of the baby as its the tears normally happen as the babies had emerges and their heads don't vary that much. My last baby was 10lb3oz, I had a minor tear but it really was fine, not sore at all. I can't compare it to a worse tear but it was way better than an episiotomy.

Also scans can be way out, my first was predicted 9,5lb but was born 7lb 11oz, and this is really common.

It's crap they won't test for gd again - but maybe it is too late? I thought I'd read somewhere the test isn't valid very late on? If not though, and you have symptoms, I'd be pushing - contact pals if you have no luck with it. Good luck.

DC1 was 8lb14oz at 40+11, I've had scans for DC2 and he's been measuring big since 32 weeks. At 36 weeks he was estimated 7lb 4oz and at 40 weeks 9lb 12oz. The consultant didn't offer early induction or sweeps early - no harm asking though. I'm getting induced at 40+3

Apparently weight can be well out (up to 2lb) in growth scans so hopefully they aren't as big as they have been measured

So my baby was estimated 7lbs 1 at 35&3 I was induced due to his large size and some other complications. He was born right on 39 weeks at 8lbs 4oz so a good sized baby not a giant one at all… they had estimated he would be close to 10lbs…
