Reduced movements but haven't stopped fully what should I do?

Hi everyone.
I'm 35+4 weeks pregnant and over the past 5 days or so I have noticed a reduction in Fetal movement. The first two days or so I was kept quite busy so didn't really think much of it as when I'm busy I don't tend to feel much movement anyway. However since then I haven't been getting as much movement as usual, baby is usually full of life in the mornings, evening and night especially when I lay on my side he never stops. The last few days this has been different for example today I woke at 7.15am and have felt him move about twice or three times very quickly. Its nice after 8pm and I'm starting to panic, I had a 2 night hospital stay last week due to painful tightenings in my uterus and was kept for observation but everything was OK and nothing since and baby was moving normally then. I am nervous to ring incase midwives think I'm overreacting as I have felt him move but no where near as much.
Tia

Go in! Give them a call and go in. They never mind

EatSprayGlove · 02/09/2021 20:12

I was told to call the midwife with any changes of movement not just if they completely stop. I once got sent in for checking as an emergency due to increased movement so I would say go in for monitoring. At the very least please ring midwife.

Call the midwife or head to the maternity hospital now. They won’t think you’re overreacting.

ohidoliketobe · 02/09/2021 20:12

Go and get seen for any changes in movement. Not reductions. CHANGES.
Please give your maternity unit a call and explain your concerns. Better to be on the safe side

Go in, just go. Any change or reduction in movement should be checked.

20viona · 02/09/2021 20:14

Always always call.

Josie9998 · 02/09/2021 20:14

Thanks everyone for all your quick responses I will defiantly give them a ring now.

Don't hesitate at all!
Ring ASAP

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/09/2021 20:15

Please ring and get it checked. Its probably nothing but best to get it checked and they really won't mind.

RisingSunn · 02/09/2021 20:39

Go in.

huffleclaw · 02/09/2021 20:41

Definitely go in. They are great and as people have said you are looking for a 'change'

I had a very active baby all the way through my pregnancy and she stopped moving as much at 39 weeks. I went in and she was moving on the scan but still not like 'her'

In the end I had an emergency c-section and she had been distressed which is why her movements had changed. All is well and she's happy and healthy. But it was the CHANGE that was key.

They'd always rather see you and it all be fine!

Starlightstarbright1 · 02/09/2021 20:42

Glad you are getting checked... you will never regret getting checked and it is fine

Hopefully that is what you will find but always worth been checked
