Hi,
I'm 14 weeks pregnant and my anxiety has sky rocketed!
Does any one have any tips on dealing with stress, worries and anxiety between 13 to 20 weeks when you have no scans for reassurance and won't being to feel baby moving still for a while!
I'm trying not to stress but I keep over thinking! Any advice would be great!

Why don't you try the miscarriage reassurer

datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer

Miscarriages and problems at the stage you're at are actually statistically not that common. Things are much more likely to go well for you. In fact, most pregnancies go well !

It's hard, you just have to take it a day at a time. They usually listen to the heartbeat at the 16 week check though.

And movement is probably not that long off - know there’s variety but it was around 16/17 weeks for me. In meantime do some lovely things for yourself, go on walks, meditate, get treatments - whatever you find relaxing. Talk your anxieties through and get them off your chest.

Im in the same place as you atm 13 weeks. Im just trying not to overthink and stress and keep busy. They will check baby heartbeat at 16 week check up although mine is gonna be when im 18 weeks due to appointments available so hoping the next few weeks fly by.

Aranciata · 02/09/2021 22:00

You could always book a private scan for reassurance.
They did listen to the heartbeat at my 16 week check.

I think I just kept telling myself if there's no indication that there is a problem try to hold onto that.

We decided to book a scan at 16 weeks to help reassure us. We didn't get to listen to the heartbeat at 16 week check up as it was virtual...

Jaymar · 02/09/2021 22:40

I had a private scan at 16 weeks which helped a bit but it was feeling tiny movements at 17 weeks which really gave me daily reassurance. Some days I let my brain go through the worst case scenario (another MMC) but straight afterwards I’d also force myself to go through the best case scenario to help balance out my thoughts. That helped a bit. I’m 32 weeks now and as the weeks have gone on the joy has gradually outweighed the worry.

Mamainthemaking · 02/09/2021 22:54

I booked a private scan at 16 weeks. Heard the heartbeat for the first time and found out the gender 😊 You won’t regret it! Especially the peace of mind.

tuxedocat · 03/09/2021 09:58

Didn’t hear the heartbeat at my 16w check but we did have a private scan for the gender and to break up the wait. It’s hard but it’s not as bad as from the test to the dating scan bit!

Aranciata · 03/09/2021 17:58

@tuxedocat I even found it hard waiting after the test and the dating scan was my 4th one! This is an IVF pregnancy and the IVF clinic wanted 2 scans done, one at 6+2 to check location and one at 8+4 and then the sonographer rebooked me for a week or so later after the second one.
It has been quite amazing to see the progress. I will have further private scans.
As @jaymar says the movements give some reassurance too.

tuxedocat · 03/09/2021 21:46

@Aranciata it really is amazing. I’ve had scans at 7, 10, 12, 13, 16 + 20 weeks (4 private 😅) and the progress really is amazing. It’s crazy how much we miss seeing, especially from
Say 7/8wks until 12/13 is huge.

Aranciata · 03/09/2021 22:10

I'm so glad you said that @tuxedocat, I've had similar, after the 12 weeks NHS scan I had private scans at 14 and 17 weeks and have another booked for around 24 weeks (after the NHS 20 week one).
Whatever helps, as much for DH as for me.
The first ones I was so so nervous. It's getting a bit easier now.

tuxedocat · 04/09/2021 08:24

@Aranciata it really difficult and I don’t regret anything we spent on private scans!
I had a suspected ectopic so one at 7wks, and then my dating scan was super late so we had a private 12wk and one at 10wks so my husband could see as I went to the 7wk alone.
We then had gender as we couldn’t wait to find out to tell our son plus the two nhs scans.

So aware it’s an absolute luxury to do, but like you say if it gets you through that time then it’s priceless 😊 it does get easier like you say when you can feel them move. And then the worry about movements start, you can’t win 😂

I’m 24wks now so unsure if we will have another (but I’m very tempted to have a 4d to see if she looks like her brother!)

glasspaw · 04/09/2021 11:42

Totally feel the same. I’m in week 16 and feel like I’m constantly worried about the baby. The nausea is really subsiding and not being able to feel anything for reassurance in combination with the lack of symptoms is kind of hideous.

Booked a private reassurance scan for next week just for some peace of mind!
