Just that.

I've only just tested positive. Starting to feel quite crap aswell. Has anyone had covid in second trimester? I've had only 1 dose of the vaccine. Was due my other one next week! Just need some sort of reassurance and some advice on what to do really

Thanks

I just had covid at 18 weeks. Not vaccinated at all. I had it very mild. If it weren't for isolating I would have been able to continue doing my job as I didn't feel poorly at all. I just had a slight sniffle.
I hope you find the same!

At this moment I just had a continuous cough and a dry tickly throat. So, so far so good. But don't know if this is just the beginning. It's so scary getting the positive at first. I've had alot of losses so I'm on edge about having it. I'm hoping I keep with the mild symptoms and isolation can just be a perfect time to chill out and de clutter the house haha. So glad you were OK and it was a breeze for you!
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it ❤️

Im positive too, im 23 weeks ive felt ive had a flu and been quite poorly but not to the extent ive been overly worried, did call for advice when i was struggling to breathe but really just take it easy and the midwife said eat anything even if its tubes of chocolate just get anything into my body.
Best advice id have is not to read stuff online i trawled the internet when i first found out i was positive and i suffer from terrible nightmares and feel like i cant breathe when going to sleep which im pretty sure is mostly because of all the storys i was reading

Get well soon ❤

Yes at 21 weeks pregnant, I’m now 24 and feel like I’m back to normal. I had one dose of the vaccine too, felt crap for a few days but quickly recovered. I hope you’re the same x

@julzx hey covid buddy! So sorry you have tested positive too! When did you get your positive? I'm on day 1. My partner has been poorly for 3 days now with it but he's feeling very unwell, he is unvaccinated so I'm hoping that having the 1 dose is going to help me! Fingers crossed you feel better soon!

Thanks ladies for your stories, I haven't dared look online. I suffer from PTSD due to my previous losses and it would set me into overdrive!x

Oh sorry to hear this @Blxo94 but at least you'd got 1 dose of vaccine in before you caught it!

Try and keep mobile and drink lots to reduce the risk of blood clots, try and eat little and often, call your GP or 111 if you feel chest pain or shortness of breath, they can sometimes arrange oxygen sats monitoring at home.
Symptoms tend to get worse after 7 days of illness if they're going to so be more vigilant next week.

@Blxo94 we had a postive lateral flow on sunday and we had the PCR monday morning with results that night, so we will be free from isolation a week today! I have just one dose of the vaccine and my partner has had 2 he feels like the vaccine has saved him from the worst of it he had one bad day other wise has just felt like he has a cold. The worst thing ove found is i start to feel better then bang i feel awful again... im due in december so kind of glad its out the way for baby coming, we must have a highly infectious strain my mum, dad and auntie have it so basically all our close contacts too, cant really pinpoint who brought it in my little boy had a headcold first (hes at nursery) then my dad took ill then a week later ( he had been in the pub a few times) and then we have had it. Worst thing is we went a little babymoon to blackpool just me and my partner and were none the wiser we had it until we came home and started feeling poorly that night! Blackpool was a nightmare for no masks no social distancing... i was crammed into a lift in blackpool tower with 20 other people was totally different to how things are in scotland

Blxo94 · 02/09/2021 20:06

@julzx what a shame! It sucks but like you said it's out the way and you can say your survived covid 19! It's a story to tell our babies what they are older! Can tell them we are super mums haha! I'm in Scotland myself and you get the odd few with no mask but I wear one at all times. I hope they don't bring the no mask rule here! Where I live (Midlothian) the cases are going up sky high!x

These are my tests from today. Some have told me not to trust them but when both come back positive and my coughing. It's a bit hard to deny it 😂! It will be a miracle if my PCR test comes back negative!

I tested positive last week at 18 weeks and I’d only had the one vaccine - I spent 3 days in bed with what fell like a terrible cold and an awful cough.

My partner tested positive the week before so it was inevitable that i was going to get it tbh. I ended up taking multiple rapid tests and three pcr tests before my symptoms finally got to the point of testing positive - how the tests didn’t flag as positive earlier I don’t know and was actually about to leave isolation thinking it was just a cold luckily the final pcr test came back positive on my last day of isolation,

Make sure to eat and drink plenty of fluids I found the headaches to be quite painful but was able to take paracetamol to sort that out.

Blxo94 · 02/09/2021 21:15

@moosey1704 omg no way! That much have been devastating to have that test on the last day! Thanks for your response.

I'm having really bad heartburn at the moment, I haven't had heartburn this pregnancy so far so not sure if it's pregnancy or the covid. But it's pretty bad x
