Has anyone been diagnosed with depression while pregnant?

Can you share what happens/ what (if any) changes were made to the care you received?

Hi!
I haven’t been diagnosed with depression during pregnancy but had suffered with it aswell as anxiety before finding out. As I have good days and bad days I have been transferred to the complex team who are amazing! Essentially you see a midwife on the complex team who gives you a longer appointment to talk things through about how you’re feeling and if you’d like any extra help. The appointments carry on until after you’ve had your baby so you have support all the way through xx

Thanks @JXA2
I’ve suffered on/ off for years. I was in a really good place for a long time before falling pregnant, in 3rd trimester and definitely having a dip.

I understand how you feel, it would be worth asking your main midwife what support you can be offered in case there is a day you feel really down. I was given a number for my specialist midwife and I’m able to text or call just to say how I’m feeling whenever I need it.

It’s scary at first because all I could think of is I’m going to be looked down on because of my mental health but I’m glad I got help sooner rather than later x

Yes. Just a couple of weeks ago. The perinatal mental health midwife called my GP, who called me. They’ve sent a few referrals, but so far, nothing in particular has happened. I’m just kind of plodding along.
