Cramps at 5 weeks

Hello all! I found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks ago. I am pretty sure according to ovulation I am 5+1 (I track and temp) and today especially I have started having what can only be described as very mild period type cramps, but no bleeding. I thought things were going well as my lines have been darkening nicely and i got a 3+ on a clear blue digital yesterday at 5 weeks exactly, but then today the cramps have got noticeably worse. They come and go and aren't horrendous or anything like that, I am just very aware of them. I am hoping it is just things stretching and what not but I had a miscarriage last month at 6 weeks so I am very nervous. Anybody got any advice or experience they can share? Thank you x

Yes op I experienced cramp around the same as you.
All turned out fine, baby is teeny tiny right but your body is already growing.
No blood is a positive!
I also think after a loss you notice everything!
I know I did!
Take care Thanks

@jennapenna thanks so much that's so reassuring to hear you went through the same. And you're absolutely right, after a loss you do tend to notice everything...I feel like I'm on high alert all of the time! Thanks again 🙂

I had cramps. I was so certain that my period was coming that I didn’t want to test but the cramps were lasting longer than usual. They continued pretty much daily until about 8/9 weeks. Some days they’d be quite painful, other days less so… I did ring the EPAU once because I had a sharp pain on one side. They weren’t too concerned and said it’s because everything is stretching out. No issues for me. Currently 26 weeks and baby is wiggling away because I’ve just had a hot drink.

@InTheNightWeWillWish every day until 8/9 weeks 😱 my stress levels would be through the roof. I just find it so unnerving! I started feeling a bit sick this afternoon though so hoping that's a good sign 🤞🏼

How are your cramps now OP? I am 5 weeks today and am also getting cramping. I keep checking the toilet constantly. Hoping it's just normal stretching :)

Hi guys!

Congratulations to everyone💕💕. I'm about 4 weeks 3 days I think, anxiety is really kicking in. Took me a long time to conceive and this is my first, conceived with taking fertility medication.

I can barely believe I'm pregnant for a start, still feel like I'm not (not sure I will until I have any scans) feeling slight cramping like I'm going to get my period. Had a chemical pregnancy one time, so paranoid about that. Getting progression on the pregnancy sticks so that's helping the anxiety a little. Keep checking when I go to the toilet 😞 xx

I was having consistent low level period type cramps from 5-7 weeks, they either got taken over by nausea or I just got distracted! Now I'm 13 weeks and no cramping :-)

ninadust · 31/08/2021 19:22

I think I would rather take the cramps over the nausea haha @loafcake x

loafcake · 31/08/2021 19:40

Oh everyday 😂 @ninadust

Yes I am in exactly the same situation (5 weeks roughly) and this pregnancy follows a miscarriage at the end of July. I am also getting cramps on and off so I'm overthinking every twinge... just trying to keep myself busy during the days and praying for the best🤞

rttcbabyno1 · 01/09/2021 17:42

I've just got a slight spotting after I went to the toilet. Anxiety is absolutely crippling me. Surely it can't be another chemical after these have been my tests? 😭😭😭 pink line one from today.

@rttcbabyno1 that looks like a very strong positive to me! I think spotting can be very normal. Try not to worry (says the worrier haha). Xx

rttcbabyno1 · 01/09/2021 20:29

@ninadust thank you 💕
I've had no more since but I'll be going into overdrive for the next couple of days, won't be able to get me off the toilet. I wish we could fast forward time and just know what's going on 😞 yes it's awful being a worrier!!! Xxx
