Hi ladies, I have my first obstetrics appointment on Thursday and I'm just wondering what to expect?

This is my second baby and my first was born at 32 weeks, I'm also being tested for GD next week (16 weeks) as I had GD last time.

Wondering if it's worth taking my husband or if he'll be bored??

What appointment is it? Your first consultant appointment you mean?

@BunnyTheFriendlyDragon yes I think its my consultant appointment but it just says its in the obstetrics department so I'm unsure 🤷🏻‍♀️

My first baby was premature due to pre-eclampsia. Do you know the reason why yours was?

My first consultant appointment just went through what happened and created a plan going forward - so for me extra growth scans as my son was small for gestation and also regular BP monitoring because I had pre eclampsia before.

Are you a high risk pregnancy? I see an obstetrician because I have a cardiac problem but I know you also see them if you have a high BMI, etc so it’ll purely depend on the reason I imagine. My partner would have been bored at my appointments though so I would leave him behind.

I think it depends on the situation but seems likely you'll see the consultant and then you can ask what the plan is for your pregnancy

@April88 no there wasn't a reason for her being early, PPROM at 31 weeks then natural labour at 31+6, born at 32.
@Thefaceofboe I'm high risk due to having a preterm birth and GD in my previous pregnancy.
