Folic acid - overdose possible?

Hi I have read all the previous posts I could find on these and just wanna seek reassurance and if there are any one with similar experience.

I accidentally consumed too much methylfolate - I bought a new bottle from Amazon without realising the dosage was 1000ug instead of my usual 400ug. On top of that I'm in pregnacarw that has 400ug.

I read all over internet that anything beyond 1000ug if not prescribed by doctor is dangerous and also the potential link to autism. I'm 4 weeks now and just wondering if anyone has consumed such high dosage (without being advice by midwife / doc eg pre existing conditions, high BMi etc) and have a normal delivery ?

Thanks ...I am just freaking out

You are very early, I don't think it's a cause for concern. The evidence is very limited and there are a million other things that also apparently cause autism.

I was taking 1000ug a day when I got pregnant as that is what a lot of fertility books recommend. I didn't switch over to pregnancy vits straight away either. Everything has been fine with my pregnancy and 35 weeks now.

Just switch to Pregnacare Max and you don't have to think about the quantities anymore x

Anything that claims to cause autism is a massive eye roll in my book.

I was told by a family planning nurse that if you take too much folic acid you'll just excrete it in your wee. It's impossible to overdose apparently.

I am in Germany and they recomend 800mcg here, babies all seem to be born normally.
