Has anyone had bfp on an opk and a bfn on a hpt at 11/12dpo?

I know it sounds silly, but I'm AT for no.3, and I heard that an opk can also give out positives.

Ever one to try out new things, I did a test for both (I know that I am early .. and judging from my other two, I only had a bfp on dpo 16 and 15 respectively .. I didn't hold out much hope) .. but there is a clear as day line on my clearblue opk!! (but a bfn on my hpt)

weird ..

.. and I know I'm clutching at straws ..

but has anyone else had a similar experience .. or am I just a complete loon???

So to be clear on this, you have a positive ovulation test and a negative pregnancy test.

That would mean you were ovulating and you don't when you are preg surely?

OPK detect luteinising hormone and preg tests HCG. LH levels plummet when pregnant I think.

Sorry

ummm it sounds like your ovulating late, it does happen with dd1 i got pregnant 4 weeks after my period so i would say treat it as such and get busy

2icklepickels - the hormone detected when you are ovulating and pregnant are the same except that there's an extra bit on the pregnancy hormone - therefore, an opk can detect pregnancy or ovulation however a hpt only detects pregnancy.

I had an opk left after I'd had a positive hpt so did it and it did give a positive result.

So although a positive opk could either mean you're pregnant or ovulating the only way to know for sure is a positive hpt.

Good luck
