I've had no change either. 20 weeks and some days feel completely flat out! Hoping it'll still happen though as 2nd trimester not over yet!

crokky · 02/12/2007 12:23

Am 21 weeks, still vomiting, tired and ill! In my last pg, I never ever got a burst of energy (until after DS was born )

LOVEMYMUM · 02/12/2007 12:47

Am 26 weeks and have daily bursts of energy. Energy some days and not others. Don't worry about it - everyone's different.

Also, i think that it makes a difference if you work and/or have other children to look after. I get tired only doing 3 days a week and no children!

Crokky - hope you feel better soon.

crokky · 02/12/2007 12:50

Thanks

Hayleyandbaby · 02/12/2007 13:51

I've not had the energy burst either. I'm 17 weeks and have gone from illness to illness to illness. Bugs, flus, everything. I duno y!! And I'm also tired alllllllllllllll the live long day, but can't really sleep at night.

Don't worry you're not alone!

Worst thing is, everyone thinks you should stop moaning and suddenly get up and do everything after first trimester ends and it's sooooooooooooooo not going to happen

whomovedmychocolate · 02/12/2007 13:57

I'm still waiting for it and DD is 13 months

I'm still in first trimester vomity mode at the mo though.

I think it's just a myth where you feel better because you stop feeling sick and everyone notices you are pregnant and pays you attention so you feel better.

missvicki · 02/12/2007 16:29

Hey all, i'm 19 weeks with my first still no energy!was also looking forward to it starting!

Like hayleyandbaby i just keep going from one illness to another, got an ear infection at the min. Also still trying to go to work as they're not at all sympathetic to sick leave, but all i want to do most of the time is sleep!! I'm getting so grumpy if i don't manage to have an afternoon nap!

BellaBear · 02/12/2007 16:37

I didn't. Maybe because second trimester pretty much coincided with autumn term at school which makes everyone tired?

BeeWiseMen · 02/12/2007 16:44

it's a myth. I finally accepted it wasn't going to happen at about 34 weeks. On the other hand an 8 oclock bedtime wan't unknown to me before I got pregnant. Mmmmmm...lovely, lovely sleep.

fruitful · 02/12/2007 17:49

No sign of it here. Well, I went from feeling sick and exhausted to just feeling exhausted. And then I hit the 3rd trimester and now I feel really really exhausted.

friendlyedjit · 03/12/2007 12:41

posted yesterday and then felt too tired to get back to the computer!!
i wake up these days thinking " roll on bedtime!"

So apologies- good to hear there are so many knackered pregnant women around!!! i'm still hoping that the third trimester may bring some energy! although didn't with last three pregnancies so..........stay positive gals its all worth it! It must be otherwise I wouldn't have done it so often!

( wanders off to do some more work yawning away)

Spent the whole of the 2nd trimester waiting and hoping for one, but it never happened. I got very fed up with dh saying 'aren't you supposd to be blooming now?'.

I planned to do lots of decorating too, and do all the odd jobs to the house that need doing, but it hasn't happened. Now I'm too tired to care.

LOVEMYMUM · 03/12/2007 17:35

Update: counting the days till i leave my job (not going back cos childcare will eat up my earnings and not worked long enough to get mat pay, so told them i'm not coming back).

Don't know how women work up to 35+ weeks - am 28 weeks and just want to stay at home. Can't concentrate on work anyway!

daisynova · 03/12/2007 18:07

I'm like HayleyandBaby too - been one illness after another and haven't really been to work much over the past 4 months. They are getting really nasty about it but it isn't my fault and I refuse to feel guilty for being unwell.

I was also one of those pregnant women who was told that magically at 12 weeks everything gets better - yet I am still waiting for that and I am now 22+5 weeks. It doesn't help that I now have suffered vision problems with my pregnancy and may lose my sight due to it. So if another person tells me that at 12 weeks I should have felt better, I will thump them!

spugs · 03/12/2007 18:17

mine didnt kick in till about 20 weeks, still feel tired occassionally but have been on a decorating and decluttering rampage not doing my back any good though
