Hi
I’m 27 weeks and I’ve had about six episodes now of crippling stomach pain. I’ve never had digestion/ toilet issues but since I’ve been pregnant they’re getting frequent. I don’t wish to be too graphic but just wondering if any of you have had similar issues?
It aways happen at night time where I get sever stomach cramps which come in waves. They’re so painful, I feel like passing out and I start shivering. I also get really bad back pain. I end up in the toilet for over an hour and I’m very constipated. After a length of time in the toilet deep breathing, it goes form one extreme to the other and I end up with bad diarrhoea. GP thinks it’s pain due to constipation which I know is more common in pregnancy. I’m worried there could be something else going on.

My DH has had this on and off for years so it might not be the PG. After putting up with it for years abs being diagnosed with various things like Irritable Bowel and stress we've realised he's allergic to Sulphates.

It might be worth keeping a food diary for a few week or two to see if there's a pattern.

During my recent pregnancy I had several similar episodes, my stomach was in agony and then I suddenly very ill. For me it was linked to a sudden food intolerance which developed in pregnancy and thankfully I was able to identify it and cut it from my diet.
