41+1 sweep advice/thoughts/positivity!

Hi, feeling like I’m loosing all hope of having the natural labour I’m desperate to have!

Managed to get a sweep this morning. 1cm dilated, still some length but she managed to give a good sweep. I’ve had horrendous fanny daggers ever since, blood when I wipe & my cervix feels very tender, good signs? Or just normal for a sweep?

Also, is it advisable to have sex after a sweep even if there is some blood?

Induction booked for 31st - really hoping she makes an entrance before then 🙏 ❤️

I had two sweeps and they did nothing to me BUT I did end up going into labour a week later and gave birth the date I was booked in for induction - 41±6 so there is still time for you!
Not sure about the blood when you wipe though? I didn't have that but I also don't think I was dilated either so maybe someone else can advise on that!

@PuddingPie16 I sure hope so! I was 1cm dilated and she managed to get right in there … everything is kind of settling down now though. Still have some blood but apparently that’s normal - just want to know if it’s safe to have sex whilst there is blood as I know the prostaglandins will help for anyone that knows the answer!! Xx

As long as your water have not broken sex is safe

I had three and they did nothing. Sex is supposed to help just after a sweep so definitely worth a go x
