this is my second pregancy and it is completely different to my first so keep freaking out a bit.im 34 wks today and ive been have having a few soft poo's (tim sorry), the baby seems to have dropped down and im finding that when i do anything physical even walking around the supermarket pushing a trolly my stomach goes rock hard and i get a period type pain which goes down into my back it only eases with rest.Another thing is im beginning to feel realy wet down there. There just feels like ive got so much pressure down there that i could just go pop.

My husband is away until the 27th december so really dont want this baby to come early-feel like i just want to put my feet up and rest because im scared of bringing on early labour though this is imposible with a toddler to care for. Not sure whether to go to my GP as only they could recommend for my dh to come although only if there was a threat to my pregnancy would they do that or for some other medical reason.my fist child was in scubu because i had pre-eclampsia although he was born 18 days early i just want a normal pregnancy.

Not sure what to suggest but hope somebody comes along soon to help you out. How old is dc1?

Jennster · 01/12/2007 23:31

I can sympathise too as my dd is only 18 months older than ds, but then I have my dh at home every night. She still wants to be held all the time.

I am not an expert by any means but maybe the pains are Braxton Hicks contractions (ie not real ones). I just looked them up on Babycentre which says:

"Many women notice that the contractions come more frequently when they do even light physical activity, such as carrying in shopping from the car. If you feel discomfort, it sometimes helps to lie down, or, conversely, to get up and take a walk, both of which can ease any pain you feel."

LadyOfTheFlowers · 01/12/2007 23:48

They sound like braxton hicks to me too, so don't worry.
I had lurvely wetness with both pregs, more so in the second. Not nice is it? I found pantyliners kept me comfortable.
I found lying down or sitting helped the braxtons passed and it was the same for me that when I was doing anything it brought them on. Lifting DS1 would start them and walking it would just contract away repetitively!
First preg I didn't get any, but second got loads and they were quite uncomfortable at times.
My stomach muscles were totally knackered for 2nd preg, which is why I think some of them were quite bad, they stopped me in my tracks.
14m between my 2 so pelvic floor also took a beating! LOL

I think because it is your 2nd you are having BH and a bit of stress incontinence. Pop a panty liner in and carry on. What else can you do to get some rest? Any friends that can take your LO for a few hours? Hope you are feeling better, try to relax. x

sounds perfe3ctly normal to me - I'm 34 wks too and exactly the same, have been with all mine and it's a total bummer -you're either running off to the loo or bunged up totally, babe thinks your bladder is a trampoline, you produce more slime than a snail and if you do anything even slightly energetic your belly turns to concrete. All you can do is keep plodding on

gigglewitchyouamerryxmas · 02/12/2007 02:13

spot on Jamilla, I totally agree.
If you are worried about pre-eclampsia (and as you know the symptoms do hide a bit) then contact your midwife, it will either reassure you or get things moving.

It does sound like you have bH, I have 3 DC and all three pregs were different. Try not to worry - tho i know that is the hardest thing in the world.

Keep posting, ggod luck

I just want to keep this baby inside until i go to term and dh is home so will have to cross my legs til the 27th dec. Is there anything you can do or shouldnt do to delay labour? this will prob come back to haunt me later as sods law ill go over my due date now lol

Don't even think abour it rosebud -it'll come when it's cooked All the stuff you are experiencing is your body slowly getting geared up a bit at a time - Personally, I'll be happy to get Xmas and new year out of the way and then I can think about a baby appearing (having 3 others means you can't obsess about it )
