The hunger, oh my god the hunger!

I’m 9 weeks and I feel starving (and nauseous and tired etc...!) all the time. As in, I’ll eat a full meal and 20 minutes later feel ravenous again. The hunger hits immediately and unless I eat right that second, I can’t concentrate, feel dizzy, tearful and shaky etc. I find myself reaching for quick easy to grab things as I really feel like I will pass out if I don’t eat.

Is this normal or should I be concerned? I’m obese as it is and I’m conscious about putting on too much weight but I feel so ill if I don’t eat. Is anyone else feeling the same? Any tips?

I was the same at that stage too! I even would wake up in the middle of the night starving and have to eat a cereal bar 😂

I was exactly like you a couple of weeks ago but am now at 13 weeks and it has eased off last couple of weeks.
I'm now back to eating more normally, so 3 meals a day with some small snacks in between. I also only fancied carby/sweet stuff but startingg to have more appetite for veg etc...also not very nauseous now and feeling so much better.

I was definitely like this with my first and everything up until about 16-20 weeks when my appetite returned to normal.
I did put on around 5 stone but lost it all by 9 month pptm

I was like this too. It did tail off. Weight gain at 35 weeks is just under 3st. Similar gain with my first and that was gone in 9 months! I don’t think I will be as lucky this time.

Yes I had this and it didn’t start to ease off until 15 weeks (currently 16+1). I’d already gained 4kg by 8 weeks so dread to even think how much it is now! It’s tough when the message seems to be “don’t eat for two!” but as far as I’m concerned it’s your body and you need to listen to it and do what it’s asking of you.

Yep I had this too! The middle of the night snacking was the worst and the hunger was primal. It does ease though

I saw a thread on here a while back discussing this and a few women said they’d got meds for heartburn and this had solved the issue of being constantly starving. Something to do with your body overproducing stomach acid and that stimulating a craving for food. Might be worth a try?

Yes!! I am constantly starving. It's odd because with dc1 I lost my appetite completely, dc2 no appetite changes other than nausea/ sickness in the first trimester and now with number 3 all I can think about is food! And I'm huge already. I've been stocking the fridge and cupboards with fruit and veg in the hopes of at least snacking healthily. Also booked in for a glucose tolerance test next week so will be interested to see if I do have GD - I've not had it before but then I've never been so ravenous before!
