Hey mamas!
I guess I'm just looking for reassurance really!
I am almost 11 weeks pregnant (I've already had 2 early scans for bleeds and pains, I've had 2 misscariages previously so being extra cautious) couple weeks until the official scan date!
Anyway I'm completely confident that baby is developing well and so far made it past the point I'd lost baby both timespreviously, but I have noticed I keep smelling what I can only describe as perm solution... But like not near hair dressers...at home, the super market, outside walking around, its everywhere 😂 but no one else can smell it!
Has anyone else experienced this or anything similar in first trimester? Is it a pregnancy thing? Should I be worried? Will it go away?
Reluctant to Google anything because it'll tell me I'm dying 🙄😂
Thank you in advance xx

Google will tell you you’ve got Covid.

It’s an altered sense of smell - do a PCR test and isolate until you’ve got the results.

I had them in the very early stages and kept smelling muddy potatoes!!! I kept thinking there must be a mouldy potato somewhere in the house. And no, it wasn’t covid... Grin

I had this in the first trimester. I could smell damp and thought we had a problem in our house (even though my partner couldn't smell anything). Then I realised I could smell it in the car and in other people's houses too so it must be a weird pregnancy thing. I didn't have covid

Hello again!
So I don't think its covid simply becsyse I've had this since about week 4 and tested a couple times since, but appreciate the suggestion!

Muddy potatoes?!? How odd, I spoke to a friend last night that said she smelt cigar smoke and bleach all the time when she was pregnant... Just The bizarre things involved in making a human I guess 🤣

In my first trimester, to me, my partner smelt of stale milk. I wretched every time he came near me. Of course he didn't, it's just the first trimester symptoms. I'd rather have smelt what you are smelling though...😂

Omg I had similar to other posts here! I had been smelling damp and soil (tasting soil as well!). How bizarre! It must be an early pregnancy thing which has seemed to have disappeared now (I’m 17 weeks). Not everything is covid related, who knew Wink
