Missed miscarriage

Hi everyone,
Having such a miserable time! Had a scan mid July and found no heartbeat and baby had stopped developing at nearly 6 weeks. Was horrific and had to go back for a scan the week after to see if a heartbeat developed. Still none but had to wait another week for another scan just incase although I knew it was a no. Then had some tablets and thought I’d miscarried, 3 weeks later I did a pregnancy test that was still positive so this week had 2 more lots of tablets and more bleeding and clots passing. They are scanning me next week to see if it’s all gone or if I need an operation :(
Just can’t see an end to this it’s been about 7 weeks now longer than I thought I was pregnant.
Has anyone had anything like this? All I want to do is get pregnant again and I feel so helpless :(

I didn’t want to read and run, I am really sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage in April but a natural one that happened quite quickly. There is a miscarriage board where I received a lot of support and I know a lot of people on there had had a similar experience to you. Maybe head over there and join one of the active posts. Oh OP I’m so so sorry. My first pg ended in a MMC. 13 weeks. No heartbeat at scan. No heartbeat since about 6/7 weeks. Devastating.
I had an ERPC.
I hope it’s ok to say I was pregnant within 3 months and he’s now 18. I’ll never forget that loss though.

Thank you! It gives me hope! I just want to be pregnant again and it feels like im missing valuable time to be trying while im constantly still doing positive pregnancy tests and may now need to wait for an operation. I can’t understand how there is so much pregnancy tissue in me it just seems never ending.
This was my first baby and im 33 so hoping I still have time to have a family, but can’t let myself spiral out of control!

I was over 30 too. Now have two kids. Wishing you the very very best.

I had this last year - ended up dragging on for over 3 months and had MVA (D&C under local anaesthetic). Be kind to yourself because it really is such a difficult time.

I had the MVA in October (no HB discovered at scan in June!), had a few months off TTC from the MVA, then caught first month back trying in Jan and now 32 weeks :)

It really affects you mentally, not knowing about the future and in limbo not able to move on, but you'll get there I promise! x

Oh and I'm 35 :)

Hi OP, so sorry you're going through this - I went through similar in April this year - found out baby had stopped developing at 6 weeks (should have been 11!). I went straight for the surgical management but 3 weeks later was still bleeding and testing positive, so then had medical management. Luckily for me this worked, but I still had to wait quite a while to get my period back (think it was 10 weeks in the end) and I'm now 9 weeks pregnant after falling straight after my first period. It's really frustrating how long it can take, and I know I was desperate for it all to be 'over' so can understand why you feel the same. There's a really good miscarriage/pregnancy loss board under the 'body and soul' topic which has lots of women in a similar position, and provided me with great support. Hopefully this round of medication has worked for you, but if you do need to go for surgery it's very quick, and not painful, so try not to stress out about it (easier said than done I know!).
Em x

Hi I'm so sorry for your loss.
I went through a missed miscarriage this time last year and it went on for 5 long weeks I had the same experience as you I was given the tablets I passed the sac a week later went back in for a follow up and I still need the tablets as I had more tissue there I lost a bit more and went back but still had some left so I had to go for a D&C in the end.

LittleGwyneth · 26/08/2021 14:43

This happened to me. Honestly having the D&C was the best possible thing, I did it under general, barely any bleeding afterwards, and it was finally all over.

Hwat11 · 26/08/2021 16:07

Thanks everyone, it does help knowing other people have been through this. Have my best friends wedding to go to next weekend and just can’t imagine been around lots of people and still worrying about all the bleeding.
Just hoping this medication will work and I’ll be able to look to the future. I will never again look at two lines on a pregnancy test and think it means a baby. Unfortunately I now know how wrong it can go! Xxx
