Pregnancy Pillows and snuggling

Silly question but do people find that pregnancy pillows get in the way of falling asleep with DP snuggling up to you/spooning you. I love falling asleep this way but i am also a sleep fidgeter and move around a lot during the night so think one behind me will stop me rolling onto my front and back.

At what point did people get them? and any recommendations for one?

I’ve got this one. It prevents me from squashing the bump. Yes wakes me up sometimes especially now that it’s warm. Glad am due Xmas it will keep me warm, started using it at 20 weeks

Does it not take up lots of room in the bed too>

OP as you get more pregnant bring spooned and asleep is going to go out of the window. At the moment (37 weeks) I don’t even sleep in the same bed as DH because I’m up ten times a night to wee and I have to be partially upright because of heartburn.

We have a cuddle before bed, but late pregnancy sleeping is not compatible with snuggling when you have to actually sleep. I then go off to my pregnancy pillow. It’s a koala one and quite nice but part of me wishes I’d splurged on a huge one that supports my back and can go between my legs too, I use another pillow for this.

I used normal big pillow under the bump and one between my knees for support. The pregnancy ones are pretty big and not ideal for sharing a bed with a partner. Having extra thick pillows in bed also helped when, erm, doing a little more than snuggling. 🥰

I got a huge pregnancy pillow from Asda and it's amazing. Made things a bit squished for us in a king sized bed but it worked. I still use it occasionally now as it is sooo comfy and my baby is 18 months old Confused

Ive got a pregnancy pillow from John Lewis. www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-v-shaped-maternity-and-nursing-pillow/p604310 Its cheap and small, so doesn`t take up my whole bed. I ordered around week 17 as I always slept on my stomach, so slowly started to train myself to sleep on my side (especially on my left) so my husband still can cuddle me from behind as the pillow only goes between your legs.

It does but I’m only 21 weeks and I’m uncomfortable already so I can’t see me wanting to snuggle further along. I have the BBhugme pillow and it’s awesome. You can mould it to give you support where you need need. It’s pricey though and it was a gift but I love it.

I finished typing too soon. Based on the price I’m not sure I would have bought but it’s definitely worth it to me.

I got the ASDA pillow too, but it takes up loads of room, and it makes me too uncomfortable and hot to sleep.

DH wouldn't be able to spoon me in it, as there's a back bit, but also, we'd both die from the heat Grin

I bought it on sale at 10 weeks and I'm now nearly 24 weeks, I've tried to use it a few times but it's too uncomfortable for me so I suspect it'll go unused until baby is here to be propped up on it, unless my general discomfort outweighs how uncomfortable I find it later on.

cravingmilkshake · 26/08/2021 11:15

Goodness, yup I'm 33 weeks with twins and can't bear my husband snuggling. When we had the 4 day heatwave I had to kick him out to the spare room.

Had a pregnancy pillow with my first baby (the long one) and husband referred to it as the Berlin Wall. We ended up not using it and have given to a friend with a bad back!

I have a couple of pregnancy ones but have given up on them this time and just use a pillow in front and a pillow behind me, which works far better for me. If DH could be relied upon to a) stay spooning me all night in the correct position without making me overheat and not wake every time I need the loo, and b) not snore/breathe heavily in an annoying fashion right in my ear, I would do without the back pillow. But, lovely as he is, at 32 weeks all I want is for him to shut up and stay as far from me as possible in bed so I have a chance at sleeping! He keeps offering to move to another room or sleep on the floor, but I like knowing he is close enough to touch if I want during the night. He is a very patient man ...

37+ 4 here and, quite frankly, I don’t want him or anyone else anywhere near me😂 it’s me and preggas pillow all the way.
