Negative pregnancy test but feeling movement and no periods

Okay so I’m really confused I have had no periods for the last 4-5 months but I have had multiple negative pregnancy test and blood test.

Through out these 4 months I have had weird symptoms like sore boobs, nausea, mood swings and frequently peeing. I have had comments for my glowing skin which I only got when I was last pregnant with my son.

I’m really confused now because my stomach looks bigger now and is hard and for the past 2 weeks I have been feeling very distinct movement and even kicks in my stomach. So could I still be pregnant ?

Btw I do get irregular periods but the latest they have ever been is 2 months and that was when I was younger in my teens.

I mean you could .... it's not unheard of to get negative tests and be pregnant but it is highly unlikely. The only way you can know for sure is to book a private scan. £60 usually

You should probably dilute your urine 50/50 with water and do another test. Google the hook effect,

Rosiiiiie · 25/08/2021 20:04

If bloods are negative then no, you are not pregnant.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 25/08/2021 21:31

I think it would be quite rare for pregnancy not show on a blood test but it really sounds like you need to go back to your GP to check there is nothing more serious afoot - they might refer you for a scan, especially if your stomach is larger and hard.

Pregnancy symptoms are so vague it could be anything, including confirmation bias and wishful thinking

Although I do get what you're saying and have thought I was pregnant when I wasn't.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 25/08/2021 21:52

I think it's quite common to feel kicks when not pregnant after you've had a baby.

But I'd be pushing for further tests here. Unfortunately some more serious conditions can cause similar symptoms, and if you've had negative tests throughout, it's worth ruling those out.

If you haven't had a period for 4 months, but you've had your symptoms throughout that time, it's unlikely that they'd be caused by pregnancy - you'd be far too early for most of that time to feel kicks, for example.

I'd go back to the GP and push for urgent testing. Best of luck.

I was pregnant and didn't find out until five months in - all tests were negative so doctors refused to believe me until I lost my rag and demanded a scan, which showed a baby...

Moo2019 · 14/11/2021 20:36

@SharpLily I’ve just seen your post and wondered if you’d mind me messaging. Basically I’ve had negative tests but recently I’ve felt movements in my stomach and I feel like they’re getting more and more frequent. I’m also absolutely exhausted all the time. I had twins 13 months ago but I’m just really worried I’m pregnant. Partly because I’ve been drinking loads of wine!
Was there anything specific you said to get a scan? I’m worried they’ll think I’m mad. I hope the rest of your pregnancy went well x

Pumpkinsonparade · 14/11/2021 20:39

Stand up straight.. Bend backwards... Feel on your public line - if you were 8 weeks plus you would feel your uterus 'bulging' out of your pelvis.. Sorry of description is crap!!

Bananarice · 14/11/2021 20:45

Two years ago, before covid I paid £30 for an early pregnancy scan using Groupon. Maybe they are still available. Either way I would recommend that you see your gp.

Moo2019 · 14/11/2021 20:50

@Pumpkinsonparade thank you that’s really helpful!

Moo2019 · 14/11/2021 20:51

@Bananarice thank you. Going to ring the GP tomorrow but needed reassurance I wasn’t going mad I think 😂

SharpLily · 16/11/2021 10:03

@Moo2019 I don't think it was something specific I said that finally got me the scan - I'd been bleating about movements and leaking milk before and it had got me nowhere. It was more that on that particular day I got a new locum who was more cautious/experienced/interested? and therefore took me seriously. I honestly don't know what would have happened otherwise - I was sporting a quite noticeable pregnancy bump by then too. I suppose you could lie and say you've had a positive test, or go to a private clinic and pay for a scan?

Moo2019 · 16/11/2021 10:10

@SharpLily thanks so much for replying. Had anyone examined you at all? I’ve had a nurse feel around my stomach yesterday and she said I’m not pregnant - so I’m wondering if it’s something else but these movements are so much like a baby moving it’s so odd!

Veeveeoxox · 16/11/2021 10:32

I have phantom kicks now 8 years after having my DD and I'm most certainly not pregnant. If you've had blood tests and it says negative then I'm sorry you most probably aren't pregnant it could be pseudocyesis. Have you been TTC for a long time ? I'd book a scan just to be sure

SharpLily · 16/11/2021 19:54

No, no-one had examined me at that point. I also have had phantom kicks at times since having children. It's very odd, it feels so real.
