Just looking for some companions to get through the next few weeks with.
34 weeks now, feel like the size of a house. Belly has measured a week ahead at each midwife appointment but seems to have accelerated in terms of growth over the past week. Acid reflux is a nice new symptom. SPD making most movements quite hard. Constantly too hot and not sleeping great. Don’t get me wrong, I am super grateful to be pregnant but shit this is getting hard now.
Anyone else due early October that fancies a good moan, chat about birth plans etc, let me know!! :)

@LunaDreams

I've carried low the whole pregnancy I've been swollen down there since about 3 months 🤦‍♀️ although to be fair I have not had alot of heartburn

SheABitSpicyToday · 24/08/2021 09:29

I’m only 28 weeks so still have so long to go Sad

Heartburn, spd, size of a whale… also have covid on top of that. Fml.

BertieBotts · 24/08/2021 09:33

I was really worried baby was going to be huge based on scans and the way I felt so enormous and full, but he only weighed 50g more than DS2.

FTEngineerM · 24/08/2021 11:56

Thank you @Ummm21 @Greenrubber @8dpwoah
I’m starting to feel fine now but god it’s hard to breathe, took me by surprise. Putting my DCs shoes on is like an Olympic sport 😬.

We will have to last it out to whenever these cuties decide they wanna make an appearance but pregnancy sure is rough at times🙈.

Fingers crossed for you all 🤞🏼

heygirlhey · 24/08/2021 12:08

36+2, been exceptionally lucky with barely any symptoms throughout but geez it's hitting me now...mainly the peeing every hour in the night and producing a dribble, acid reflux in the night, achey hips and knees in night!! Walking far just makes me need to pee, off food due to the lack of space there plus indigestion. Whilst totally grateful it's no wonder ladies want this over with by the end!!! Could still have weeks to go as it's our first

Solidarity to us preggos...we'll get there!

shivawn · 24/08/2021 12:14

I'm also 34 weeks! Definitely with you on the recent growth spurt, I'm so much bigger than I was a week ago and my bump is sooooo hard now! I do worry about how it'll look after the baby and how much loose skin I'll be left with but no stretch marks yet at least.

Acid reflux isn't a new symptom for me, I've had it since the start of the second trimester! Rennie's always sorts it for me immediately so it's not a big problem. I just need to make sure I have Rennie's on me at all times, I'll actually vomit without them the reflux is so bad!

I'm uncomfortable sitting for too long, especially in the wrong type of chair....bar stools are the worst but I'm really comfortable just lying on my side in bed and I sleep like the dead so I'm thankful for that!

I'm trying to stay as active as possible but its hard, I always go for at least one walk a day but I'm rarely hitting my 10,000 steps, I'm at the stage now where I'll just settle for 6000. I try to do my spinning babies exercises on my pregnancy ball every night before bed but I'll often make excuses! I get short of breath quite easily and everything takes a little longer than usual.

Overall I'm not doing terribly, just a bit lethargic and lazy. Doing my best to just enjoy this time when we can still go out for spontaneous drinks and meals with friends, although I'm getting fed up of always being the sober one and I never want to see another crappy overpriced mocktail again after October!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 24/08/2021 12:28

30w with twins here and don't understand how this is supposed to carry on now.

Someone's feet in my hooha
Someone else's feet on my bladder
PGP
Piles
Anaemia
Breathing issues caused by anaemia
Constipation caused by anaemia meds
No sleep
Could wee at any given point except when presented with a tiny cup by an HCA

Anything on the floor needs to be picked up by dh or my small dc or it stays there 😂

Also this Grin

TheWayTheLightFalls · 24/08/2021 12:28

They're both on the 70th centile fgs. I'm truly happy to be pregnant and carrying healthy babies but I am battling.

8dpwoah · 24/08/2021 14:25

Oh no not you as well @SheABitSpicyToday hope it clears off and leaves you alone soon!

Bloody nora @TheWayTheLightFalls I'll stop moaning about carting the one small one round, I can't even imagine carting two big ones around at the same time! You'll feel like a new woman once they're out and in their cot 😂

Bit TMI but anyone that's on their second or more baby getting quite a bit of colostrum? I think I'll need to harvest some for the tiddler but I don't really want to get too involved with all that til 36 weeks just in case it kicks me off even earlier than planned! Didn't stop BF til about 4 months ago so was expecting to get back into it in terms of supply but kind of thought it'd take a bit longer than this!

Quornflakegirl · 24/08/2021 14:38

You most definitely can and will make it, our bodies are made to do so.
When I was pregnant over summer (nearly a decade ago) with our twins I was enormous, I carried to 34 weeks and measure 52, I was a walking freak show. I had two transverse babies which made me even bigger, one baby on my bladder and one under my ribs. My hips were completely destroyed and continued to click when I walked until my dc turned 3! Babies and (double) placenta all came out weight 19lbs.

Your body and do this 💪

Ummm21 · 24/08/2021 18:53

Ah welcome ladies! As if in punishment for moaning yesterday I woke up today with such a sore fanny 😂 I’ve had SPD since 8 weeks but mainly affecting my back and pelvis, this morning it’s like something is pressing very firmly down on my lady bits from the inside and my pubic bone might split in two 😫

We can do this!!!

Ummm21 · 24/08/2021 18:55

@Quornflakegirl woah!! 19lbs!! That’s immense, well done!

Createdjustforthis · 24/08/2021 18:56

I went to 42 weeks with my first in the middle of a bloody hot July.

I’ve never been more miserable

Ummm21 · 24/08/2021 19:55

@8dpwoah I am on number two but haven’t had anything yet, I did have a ‘let down’ sensation on the weekend when I was going through my 3 year olds newborn clothes which was weird and unexpected. I have been wondering when I’d start seeing anything. Can’t imagine trying to harvest colostrum though…my boobs and particularly nipples are super sensitive at the moment

LunaDreams · 24/08/2021 20:05

@Quornflakegirl I take my hat off to you for carrying and delivering twins. Literally a double whammy!

WideOpenSpaces · 24/08/2021 20:18

Does anyone else find their baby stops moving as soon as someone else is looking / feeling? I'm starting to get annoyed because every time I go 'ooh baby's moving' (which it does all.the.time when no one else is around) to DH, it stops. He's given up interest in feeling for movements now and it's making me strangely sad!

EpicDay · 24/08/2021 20:22

When I was pregnant with DC2 and was doing the school run with DC1 I wanted to get a T-shirt with the slogan with "does it look like I've had the f baby?". If one more person had said to me "ooh, no baby yet, then" I would have cried. It passes. Eventually...

FTEngineerM · 24/08/2021 21:16

@WideOpenSpaces ha yes! My DP hasn’t actually felt this baby move yet.. I’m 37 weeks 🙈. Every single time I say ‘ooooh now now he’s moving’ he stops

LauEli · 24/08/2021 21:18

@heygirlhey the dribble... This, where the hell does this one come from. I wake up with a wet pillow most nights 😂 glamorous I know!

LauEli · 24/08/2021 21:24

@WideOpenSpaces same, she wriggles all day, as soon as hubby gets home to have a feel she's like a statue 😂 so cheeky.

Does anyone else's baby get hiccups nearly everyday? Such a weird sensation 😬

8dpwoah · 24/08/2021 21:38

Yes @LauEli we have daily hiccups although nowhere near as much as my first who had the two or three times a day and she carried on being hiccupy for months after! Never had any feeding problems or reflux or anything though, would be interesting to see if there's a link.

WideOpenSpaces · 25/08/2021 15:27

@FTEngineerM @LauEli good to hear it's not just me Grin
Had a strop yesterday. My mum popped round and I had a grumble about feeling uncomfortable and she gleefully said 'oh it'll get much worse than this!'
I had a MASSIVE sense of humour failure and just burst into tears. Honestly, why do people say these things?!!

Bear2014 · 25/08/2021 15:37

Sadly just when you think you could never be more pregnant, the next day you are! It sucks. DS just turned 4 and I still can't believe how uncomfortable I was when I was in my third trimester with him. He was 11lb with a huge placenta and loads of waters. I slept much better after he was born, despite people telling me to catch up on sleep before he came. I wanted to smack them all in their stupid faces. You can do this!

heygirlhey · 25/08/2021 15:45

@LauEli yep saliva dribbles my pillow, and dribbles of pee when you feel like you're about to burst and your bladder is so full! 🤣

GiraffeInTheWild · 25/08/2021 15:54

I basically live on the loo now (39 weeks today). Just when you 'get used to' some new pregnancy symptom another one smacks you in the face as well...
can also sympathise with getting annoyed with the, 'just wait it gets worse' or 'wait until the baby gets here' comments - how do people honestly think this is supposed to make you feel better (or less anxious??)
