Acid reflux killing anyone else off?

I’ve had acid reflux from the start, everything makes it worse (whinge), except milk- oddly yoghurt makes it worse.

I’m on gastro resistant aspirin and the midwife at my booking appointment said I couldn’t take any indigestion meds whilst taking aspirin 😢

Anyone else’s whose existence is being plagued by the burn? 🔥

I've had a bit of it and popped nexium once. didn't know you couldn't take it with asprin. but only had it once and had a scan since and baby was fine

I'd speak to your GP see if there's anything they can perscribe to help

@Nc4post99 yes me! I am on aspirin also, but my GP prescribed me gaviscon a few backs and all has been ok. She said it's safe to take with aspirin 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ask your gp to prescribe omeprazole. It totally solves the problem.

I 2nd opremazole! Had constant and I mean constant acid reflux during my pregnancy! Baby was VERY hairy when he was born (even though this is an old wives tale)

It’s the worst. But definitely get some omeprazole! I was prescribed both aspirin and omeprazole during my first pregnancy.

They can DEFINITELY prescribe that, don’t let them say they can’t. Game changer.

My heartburn was really debilitating from about 8 weeks, I lasted a month, 2 weeks of those trying every bit of advice from the NHS website & over the counter medication, as well as tracking food to see what exacerbated it and nothing helped. The GP gave me a prescription for omeprazole & it's really helped. I would definitely speak to your GP, mentioning the aspirin concern & see if there's anything he can prescribe you.
I'm a little concerned as I'm due to start taking aspirin as there's a history of pre eclampsia in my family but I wouldn't want to give up my omeprazole! Though the medication booklet didn't mention anything about aspirin so I would've assumed it was fine.

Oh god yes. Its as though i swallowed paint stripper! Im convinced im birthing baby chewbacca. I mentioned it during my last appointment and i was given omeprazole. My god i can eat again! Everything set it off. Even squash. My life has been transformed! Please get some OP, dont struggle x

I was on aspirin and omeprazole but omeprazole gives me stomach cramps so was moved onto laneprozole (I think that's its name) and max strength gaviscon as I had constant reflux.
I have reflux anyway due to its but my last baby made it 1000x worse and unbearable thankfully the medicine really helped

Thanks ladies, I’ll call my GP tomorrow morning and ask for a call back. It’s rough isn’t it, can’t bloody bend down without fire coming up my throat. This baby better have one lustrous mane! 😂

Me! 34 weeks with second baby and never experienced this before. At least I’m assuming that’s what it is although it’s not painful as such, more like a weird half acidic half sweet taste in my mouth all the time that makes me feel sick. I wake up in the night with a mouth full of it and it’s absolutely disgusting!!!! I have requested a call back from the Dr as pharmacist wouldn’t help 😏 let us know how you get on!

I’ll let you know how I get on, i double checked my aspirin box and it says to speak to your doctor about taking them with indigestion relief, so it might be a case of not taking gaviscon or whatever within a few hours of taking the aspirin. I’ll keep you posted, still feeling the burn though 🔥
