Pregnacare max - exasperating nausea?!

7+2 with dc2, I have the worst morning sickness ever. I can’t even get out of bed. Gp put my on ciclyzine which curbed the nausea a bit for a few days with some awful side effects (dizzy, confused, dopey etc) but since last night haven’t helped at all. tbh it’s also not worth it because i feel so out of it im unable to look after my 3 yo dd safely I feel. So I’ve been lying in bed looking for any kind of relief I could have from this and found some threads of people finding pregnacare made their sickness worse. Did anyone here find that? I definitely found the basic ones made me sick in my pregnancy to dd1 but that was later in the pregnancy and I didn’t ‘need’ to take them really.

Any thoughts?
I’m going mad. I start back at work soon and no way can I function like this. Can’t be signed off work as sick as I’m a student midwife and will really fall behind. Sad

Also, any experiences with acupuncture? In fact throw any and every relief possible at me please!

I had this with pregnacare, discovered it was those making me sick around 10 weeks (again had found a few threads on here stating sickness with pregnacare) and started taking Tesco's brand ones. Never had sickness after that! I also found Tesco's ones easier to swallow.

@NewMumma1819 I’m definitely going to stop taking them now and just have folic acid on it’s own for a few days and see how I feel with that. I feel like this is driving me insane Sad

Try Feel pregnancy vitamins, I had morning sickness from Pregnacare and Seven Seas. Nothing when I started on Feel

NewMumma1819 · 22/08/2021 17:22

Also, Tesco's ones are a fraction of the price so if you buy a box and can't take them it's not such a waste so to speak 😊

The Pregnacare Max tablets 100% made my sickness and nausea so much worse. Almost overnight after I stopped taking them, the nausea subsided. I just started taking the healthy start ones from my midwife after that and it made SO much difference! Smile

Those feel ones look great @NoHeavenNoMore although don’t know if I’m being tricked by the fancy packaging 🤣 will 100% pick up the Tesco ones!

Oh the pregnacare ones were awful. Literally made me feel awful.
The seven seas ones have ginger and are absolutely fine for me - a game changer!

jolota · 22/08/2021 20:13

I had to give up on prenatal tablets & just bought the separate vitamins so even when I'm nauseous I can just focus on keeping the folic acid down.

SW1amp · 22/08/2021 20:14

Just take the liquid form

Ednadidit · 22/08/2021 20:32

I was advised not to take pregnacare as I have HG and they didn’t want to make it worse! Midwives recommended supermarket own brand version originally but now they’re just telling me to take vitamin D.

Thefaceofboe · 22/08/2021 22:00

I was so so sick taking pregnacare! Honestly change your vitamins and see if it makes a difference Smile

Whosthecrazy · 22/08/2021 22:01

DH has picked me up some folic acid on it’s own to take so fingers crossed tomorrow is a better day. I’d love to stay away from the anti sickness because it really did make me feel totally out of it. Sad

Was told to take vitamins before bed to help with sickness - maybe try that? Literally nothing helped me for 19 weeks though xx

33goingon64 · 22/08/2021 22:20

I couldn't take them. Just take folic acid supplements.

babouchette · 22/08/2021 22:32

The thing I found that really helped with nausea is vitamin B6. I only took that plus folic acid, and just tried to eat a balanced diet otherwise. The days when I skipped the B vits my nausea was much worse. Worth a try?

Whosthecrazy · 22/08/2021 22:53

I only ever took them at night, still awful sickness! Sad

@babouchette I’ve actually just started taking b6 today. How much did you take a day? I’ve got the 25mg tablets. Not sure if I should take two or three a day. Also how long did it take for you to notice a difference? X

So I’ve woken up this morning feeling a million times better! Still nauseous but no where near as bad and we’re actually going out for a trip to the playground. (
First time in weeks!! Fingers crossed this is a good sign!
