Basically I don’t know whether to ring the out of hours midwife or wait until my appointment in 2 days time. I’m 34 weeks ftm and yesterday I spent the day travelling in the car and sitting down a lot. I then noticed my ankles were very swollen and for the past couple of weeks, a couple times a week i get pains in my upper abdomen, a stitch like pain. Then today my ankles are still swollen and I was getting this pain quite badly. Not a cramping pain but a very very painful stitch like pain that hurt when I moved all over my left side. I then felt nauseas and threw up. I then went to the toilet (sorry tmi) and as soon as I finished the pain subsided. I don’t know whether to call my midwife due to the swollen ankles and pains/ nausea (scared of pre eclampsia) or whether to wait for my appointment as the pain has subsided but ankles still swollen. Baby is moving fine. Thanks

Please please call your midwife or labour ward to be assessed and checked. Never worry you are inconveniencing them. I had pre eclampsia but it hit me like a ton of bricks and had been building in my body for 3 or 4 weeks and had to be rushed in and induced at 38 weeks. Best to keep you and baby safe.
