Mat leave

Curious- how are people spending their mat leave before little one arrives? Things you are doing to get ready for baby; relaxing, enjoyable things for you or you as a couple.

I keep getting told to relax and enjoy this time, but find myself staring at various screens and worrying I'm wasting it! Looking for inspiration and motivation...

Depends how much time you have off.

I’m moving house (we’re renovating it atm) hopefully 4-6 weeks before baby arrives and my plans is to clean and organise bedrooms & kitchen, batch cook and freeze meals, see my wee granny most days and maybe fit in a few treatments before.

I’ve been cleaning mostly 🤣 have washed all the baby clothes, packed my hospital bags, and taken the opportunity to sort through my clothes and my children’s clothes to have a bit of a clear out. Felt really satisfying!

We’re in the middle of an extension being done so I’ve had the kids sort through old toys etc so they aren’t moving stuff they don’t want into their new rooms etc.

Basically just been ‘nesting’ lol. Cleaning skirting boards, behind cupboards and units that haven’t seen the light of day for a while lol. Clearing out my kitchen cupboards, rearranging them etc.

Meeting up with friends for walks, lunches at the local pub, and napping whenever I feel like it 🤣
