Has anyone tried a relief band for morning sickness?

I’ve been using the pressure bands with the little button that goes between the tendons on your wrist but it hasn’t made much difference.. I’ve found those relief bands that send electrodes (?) in the same area and the reviews are all good but I wonder if they’re fake! Couldn’t find any reviews on mumsnet, so please tell me did you use them and did they work?! I am desperate! Not throwing up too much but the never ending nausea and inability to eat anything at all other than ready salted crisps is literal torture. Pregnant with dc2 and poor dd3 is suffering because of it Sad

I had HG. I bought one of those early on in desperation. It was no miracle cure. Think it helped a bit with nausea but no help with the vomiting. Medication is the only thing that actually helped. I wore it as I had already spent the money and it did no harm but I wouldn't exactly recommend it. Sorry not very helpful. Speak to your doctor if you are not managing. Hope it is short lived for you.

@Moonsand55 ah that’s not good! I have no idea how people with HG cope if I’m this sick! Bless you x

Acupuncture is way more effective then the bands. Have you tried it? It was a lifesaver for me.

@Whosthecrazy don't suffer and get onto your GP for cyclizine

Cyw2018 · 18/08/2021 16:08

I tried them, I was too scared to take them off incase they were helping, so they only came off for under 1/2 hour each day for me to go in the shower. No idea if they were actually doing anything though. I ended up on cyclizine for the rest of my pregnancy.

I used them up until 10 weeks or so, worked for me Smile

I haven't any experience of the bands you describe, but just wanted to reassure you that my morning sickness peaked at weeks 7 and 8 and then became a good bit better. I also could only eat ready salted crisps/buttered rice cakes/chicken and mushroom pot noodles. And like you, nausea more than vomiting. Hope you feel better really soon. You forget how intense it is.

I had HG and tried everything, nothing worked, apart from necking a glass of water while semi horizontal when I first woke up so I'd at least have something in there to throw up.

Try anything and everything to find some relief is my advice!

Also, your GP can give you anti sickness drugs. Take them if you can, they can really help (unless it's HG, in which case it also might not...)

Travel bands worked wonders for me, The minute they came off I got hit with a huge wave of nausea

Did nothing for me, unfortunately.
