Hi

I was going off my last period for dates but admittedly my periods haven’t been that regular since coming off the pill.

Based off of those dates I thought i was 8/9 weeks pregnant. I took a pregnancy test that was positive about 3/4 weeks ago.

Today I went to the hospital as I have had a small amount of bleeding (no pain, no blood on the transvaginal scan either)

The doctors told me the baby measured at 5 weeks and there was a fetal pole and yolk sack and I think they said 4.5mm

I have to return next week to see if theres a heartbeat and growth.

I’m petrified. I have no idea if the baby stopped growing or my dates are completely wrong.

We moved house so we hadn’t been having much sex that month but we did on the 14 July which is 5 weeks ago.

Hello,

Hope you're OK. This sounds confusing but good to have been checked and to be booked in to go back.

I just wanted to say, if the doctor said 5 weeks then conception would have been 3 weeks ago (ish!) as they add two weeks on for where the egg was developing.

Don't know if that's helpful or not, best of luck with it x

@Rebeccao it's a good sign that there's a yolk sac and fetal pole.
Try and stay positive. Sometimes, some babies just need a little time to catch up x
