I had my first appointment with my consultant last week. It honestly wasn't the best appointment, he did not seem to actually listen to me but overall he did seem knowledgeable.
Since then I have had a call from the pharmacy saying that they've been sent a prescription for vitamin d and aspirin. I'm abit confused as to why I've been prescribed this. He did ask whether my mother had pre-eclamsia during her pregnancies as she is diabetic to which I explained that she hadn't and has only recently developed diabetes. But other than that he didn't really seem to be concerned about anything. I know being prescribed aspirin isn't uncommon and I did have a heart condition in my teens (now resolved) so I guess that's probably why for that but I'm even more confused about the vit d. I'm already taking pregnecare which I told him. Do they check vitamin d levels in the first blood sample that my midwife took? Will he have these results as there is nothing in my notes that I can see about low vitamin d?? It just seems odd for him to assume and I'm worried about taking too much. I don't want to stop my pregnecare as I'm still struggling to eat much so I'm worried about lacking other vitamins. I'm waiting to talk to my midwife but think I'll be waiting awhile so thought I'd ask you all
