First trimester spotting after sex (photos)

Hi everyone
I am 6+4 today and have experienced light browny pink spotting after sex recently. I had implantation bleed that lasted quite a while, possibly 2 weeks of light tan mucus but not much, never on my knickers, this cleared up but I'm still experiencing occasional light spotting after sex.
Has anyone else had this experience and it turned out fine?
I'll include photos of toilet roll after sex. It always clears up within a few hours or if I have a bath straight after I don't see any.
I will be booking an early private scan for 8 weeks but it's such a long wait! I've had my clear blue 3+ and all my tests are clear positives but I can't help but worry

I had spotting after sex, alot more than is on your picture and it was pink with a bit of red. Lasted for a day or so

Baby was absolutely fine, I'm 34 weeks now. Midwife said its common and it's to do with the cervix softening.

thanks so much @Fourleafclover93 did it just happen the once though? This has happened a few times, maybe three times, also why would it be brown if it was my cervix?

@Carolinesyear it happened everytime until I was in the second trimester. I ended up just not having sex for a bit because I'd had 2 mcs before this pregnancy and it made me anxious. Midwife assured me it was perfectly safe to carry on.

I can't remember the exact reason but she said something about cells on the cervix. There's some info on these links which probably explains it better than I can.

had this after sex at about 6 weeks. was told its likely just your cervix is a bit irritated. I'm 16 weeks now and no further bleeding

Thank you @Fourleafclover93 that makes me feel much more confident, I phoned the EPU today and she said it could well be my cervix and didn't offer a scan or any further action. Having a bath now, I might abstain for the rest of the week and see what happens

In both of my pregnancies I had spotting after sex in both second and third trimester.. in my first pregnancy I had a big bleed with clots and all sorts and thought I had lost the baby but all was fine.. it’s really common. Please don’t worry xxx

Just to let everyone know I had a private scan yesterday at what I thought to be 6+6 but baby actually measured 7+1 and we saw a heartbeat! Hopefully things will carry on as they are going and he or she will be a sticky bean! Thanks for all your help. The sonographer also said that implantation bleeding can go on for quite a while while everything settles and didn't seem too concerned about the spotting

So another update, I had a bleed just after my scan so went in for another scan at 8 weeks everything ok, spotting then stopped after sex and I had another private scan where I measured 10+5 again everything looking good, I am now 11+1 and had slight spotting after sex last night but I suppose I just should get used to it, my next scan will be a week on Monday for my dating nhs scan when I'll be 12+5. I hope everything is ok

Any updates? I’m 7w3d and have been having the same things happen. My spotting doesn’t really come out until 24h later and is light tan brown. Had sex on sun late night and then spotting was there when I woke up this morning. I’ve had two 12 week mmc in a row in the last year and I had the exact same kind of spotting in those pregnancies, so it make it’s super scary. It’s hard to know if it’s just me that spots like this and it has nothing to do with the baby dying in the end or if it does. Trying not to get too freaked out

Hi @Bbglex I had my 12 week scan a week ago yesterday where I measured 13 weeks so I'm 14 weeks now, the spotting has stopped now even after sex, I know a few people on the Mumsnet pregnancy forum who had spotting throughout the first trimester and now it's all forgotten about and they've moved onto something new, the worry never ends but I am especially aware that the worry will be worse for you because of your miscarriages, but if it's brown and not filling a pad and not accompanied by strong pains I think you'll be fine. Have you had an early scan? I think you should, we'll worth the money
