Hello, so it's been 5 years since my first born and we had the Angel Care monitor Mat which for us was an absolute gem to have it gave me peace of mind and after the first few weeks of nothing when baby slept I bought the angel care may and finally was able to sleep more because I felt that it would alert me to something if I need to.
But now things have moved on, there is the Nanit baby monitor with sock 🤷🏻‍♀️ The owlet?! What do people recommend nowadays?

Watching this thread because I'd like to know too!

I have the owlet and love it!
Dd is only 3 weeks old so only had it a few weeks but really do love it. The sock works well and I find it incredibly reassuring!
The camera looks great though dd is obviously still in our room so I'm currently using it in ds room- he's 3 as it's better than his and means they are both on my phone app.
We had the tommee tippee mat with ds and got loads of false alarms.

We have the Eufy Security 360. We love it as where its fitted we could physically see babys chest rising and falling with each breath and if he moves in the cot we can move the camera to keep a close eye on him. Its not connected to a phone it has its own monitor with it but its definitely given me peace of mind even when in our room and he was 2 arms lengths from me in his cot i could hear him breathing but to physically see it on the monitor by my bed made it so much better.

We love our Owlet

I used the angel care mat and found it truly horrendous. We put it to the rest after DD would be very much alive and well and it would go off all the time.. we would take her out and wait for it to alarm and it never bloody did half the time. Not that it makes a difference because it actually has no effect on SIDS at all, doesn’t reduce the risk and is purely a ‘peace of mind’ piece of equipment.. which didn’t give me any peace of mind because I was constantly waiting for that sounds to go off.

Might try the owlet sock this time, that or nothing because I found it truly pointless and would rather just check on the baby as and when.

We have the BT smart one. It's fantastic.

IMHO owlet etc just breed anxiety

We have the snuza hero but haven’t used it yet (1 week old) as I didn’t want to clip it onto his nappy when the cord hadn’t fell off yet. I have heard a lot of good things about it though and will sleep better when I can use it

Had angel care mats for both of mine, i wouldn't of slept without them. Yes it took some fiddling to get sensitivity settings right but id rather have 100 false alarms and it worked once on a genuine alarm than not. We stopped at about a year old with DD as her pad was a wireless one that needed a certain battery and after 3 or 4 tries of getting the wrong ones, we just never put it back in

We've used both the Snuza Hero and the Owlet, and would recommend both. The Owlet is my preferred option though between the two as it lasts longer, with the Snuza we had to stop using it as soon as DC could roll over which was earlier than I would have liked in all honesty.
