Hi, so I’ve recently found out I’m pregnant, I’m 5 weeks tomorrow and very excited but also very nervous. I had a miscarriage nearly 4 years ago which effected me so badly (I’m sure everyone gets effected badly) and this is my first pregnancy since then. I’ve not got any children so don’t have any ‘positive’ experience to relate to.
Friday and Saturday night I had a small amount of pink ‘blood’ when I wiped but didn’t think much of it. Yesterday morning I had some red/brown blood and this morning I had some red/pink blood but only one wipes worth then it’s gone. I’ve also had brown CM.

I spoke to the midwife this morning but as it’s so early they won’t scan yet and just said to keep an eye on it and do another pregnancy test next week and if it’s positive but I’m still bleeding to go for a scan.

I’m just worrying (as much as I’m trying to stay calm it’s easier said than done) I just wondered if anyone has experienced this and had a positive outcome?

Just a little update in case anyone comes across this and wants to know the outcome.
I had another small bleed Sunday, again only a wipes worth but I rang the EPU yesterday and they got me in for an early scan.

Everything looked ok but they couldn't see the baby yet, most likely because it's too small so I have another scan booked in for next week.

Based on my last period I'm 6 weeks today but according to yesterday's scan the sack was measuring over 6 weeks. They didn't seem to be worried that the sack was bigger than expected though.

Just keeping everything crossed that at next weeks scan they can see a tiny baby in there growing nicely.

I'm so sorry you didn't get a response on this, just commenting to say I have my fingers crossed for you and look after yourself ❤️

I had various bouts of spotting around 5.5wks and 6.5wks and then a bleed at 9wks. I agreed with the GP at the earlier spotting that going for a scan may cause more worry due to it being so early. After pain at 8wks (due to a fibroid) I had a scan and all wad ok, then at 9wks I had a bleed and was sent for another scan and all was still ok. Currently 40+4 with no bleeding since. Just wanted to share a positive side and give you hope.

All the best ❤

Good luck for you. Fingers crossed for a healthy, sticky little baby in there.

Hi @Hopefulmama93

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I had the same as you around the same time. Always a small amount and in the morning. I never contacted anyone about it, but unlike you hadn't had a previous loss, so completely understand why you'd look for some reassurance. I put it down to stretching of the uterus/ implantation and it stopped by week 7.

I'm now 10w+4 and just had a normal 12 week scan. Best of luck for your next scan 😊

Thank you so much for this, it's really reassuring. I'm a worrier anyway but after the previous loss I can't help but overthink everything.

But this gives me more hope ❤️

Thank you, this is really reassuring. I know as soon as I see a teeny tiny baby in there I'll feel much better but it's the unknown that constantly plays on my mind and as I only have a negative experience to compare to, when I see blood I instantly think the worst.

Glad to hear everything is progressing well for you ❤️

Just a little update, I had a scan this morning and we saw a tiny little baby (although it looked like a bean 😆) measuring 7wks 2d and a tiny flickering heart beat 🥰
