I'm looking to buy some maternity jeans but wondering whether anyone has any recommendations please?

I got a pair from H&M and they were great. They fit nicely and adapted to my growing belly while remaining comfy.

Just got some asos slim high wasted under bump fairleigh ones in black and they are amazing. Wide elasticated panel that will definitely grow with the bump. Only £25! They're super :)

River Island have a sale currently online. You can buy some lovely ones for less that half price

Definitely H&M; I bought 3 pairs in my first pregnancy and lived in them for both first and second pregnancy and they’re still going strong. I tried Asda and new look ones but wasn’t a fan

I also recommend H&M maternity jeans, so comfortable and a great fit!

Thank you so much everyone, I'll check out all of the recommendations - I've been an avid leggings wearer up until now but I'm starting to feel I need something a little more substantial to hide the wobbly bits!!! Grin

I vote H&M too very comfy. Hated the newlook ones

Mummysgonetobed · 14/08/2021 18:33

New look were best for me, the over bump ones were great when I was big

Flutterby8 · 14/08/2021 20:56

Ive just bought a few pairs from Next. They have the elastic side panels and 'grow with you' rather than have the fabric that goes over your bump.
They fit lovely and are very comfy

When buying maternity jeans, do you buy your regular size prior to being pregnant? As I bought my first pair from Matalan the other day and they were huge! May try H&M as people have suggested x

HalloHello · 14/08/2021 22:46

I have new look over bump ones which were pretty hopeless until I was about 34 weeks. Just too big, and I'm already pretty flipping massive. Size down would be my suggestion

heygirlhey · 14/08/2021 22:52

Love leggings website is great for Mat leggings and also jeggings...just need to order your pre pregnancy size.

Colinthecaterpillar35 · 19/08/2021 11:02

So I've just had my H&M delivery and ordered some 'super skinny' maternity jeans in a size 12-14 (I was a big 12/small 14 pre pregnancy). Now I know I've put on weight since being pregnant (as in actual weight not baby weight) but luckily I also ordered a pair in 16-18 as well to try on and to be honest the 16-18 are probably just the right size for me now at 24+6.

Someone please tell me they found H&M sizing small ConfusedConfused before I go and cry in a dark room and eat moreCake

@Colinthecaterpillar35 I've found H&M sizing to be all over the place, even pre-pregnancy! Some bits of clothing, the 10 or 12 would fit perfectly, while for others the 16-18 would feel snug. (Usually a size 14).

I wouldn't let it get you down - high street sizing is really inconsistent. Go by what feels good and helps you feel confident. We can always cut the labels out...

Tangled123 · 19/08/2021 15:01

@Colinthecaterpillar35 I always found H&M sizes to be on the small side. My weight fluctuates a lot so I only shop there when I’m skinny.

Next, on the other hand, seems to size a bit bigger. I bought maternity jeans from them at the start of my pregnancy. They were a bit big up until I was around 20 weeks, and then I wore them nearly every day until I was about a month post partum. Now they’re back to being too big.

SillyBry · 19/08/2021 15:45

I loved my New Look ones. I found over the bump better than under the bump as I spent forever with a builders bum with the under the bump ones.
I got handed down a pair of H&M ones that are super comfy and a pair from Seraphine, which are great... but I wouldn't pay more for them than any of the high street brands - the quality is no different!
