Any midwives on here?

Hi

Currently 38 weeks and thinking what to take along for the midwives for after I deliver. With my past pregnancies I took chocolates for the midwives but just thinking- you probably get lots of chocolates from other Mum's. What do you recommend?

Chocolate? Doughnuts? Muffins? or any other ideas?

I’m a midwife. Right now I think just knowing they’re appreciated is amazing, any gift is just an added treat. I’m not working at the minute. But watching my colleagues stretched far beyond their capacity is soul destroying. They’re so busy and as a result can’t always provide the care they’d like to. A card with kind words will mean the world xx

@Peacefulspirit thank you for replying. Aside from a warm card, what should I buy? In your experience, what do midwives enjoy most?

Not a midwife but I work In theatres, any sort of sweat treat always goes down amazing healthcare staff can smell a cake from a mile off lol and a nice black ball point pen

Not a midwife, but I always appreciate individually wrapped treats with Covid, especially if they’re being shared.

I'm a nurse not a midwife but just from my experience on the wards, we get given loads of chocolates so we love getting sweets or cakes for a change! Any gift is so appreciated though!

For 'staffroom' type gifts I've been buying biscuit or chocolate bar 'bouquets', there's a few companies doing them now. Border biscuits or Cadbury chocolate bars seems to go down well and they're individually wrapped of course so almost no Covid worries.
