AIBU to think that being a wedding guest at 8 months pregnant is hell on earth

The food was nice. But now it’s evening, my dress is constricting my lungs, everyone including DP is drunk and doing sambuca shots and I am a puffy-footed whale trying to join in conversations from sitting down while everyone is standing up. Also impossible to get away from second hand smoke and impossible to dance with gigantic bump and PGP Angry

They have just brought round cheese toasties which has improved my mood slightly.

Anyone else?

Oh you poor thing- I attended a wedding at 39 weeks pregnant many years ago. I still resent being forced to go!! If you want, just go off to your room now everyone is getting drunk. Take it easy and look after yourself. Bring a few cheese toasties with you!

The one time I had to attend a family wedding while pregnant I was glad it was a fair distance away meaning we had to stay in the hotel it was held in. It meant I could plead exhaustion and take myself off to enjoy tv in the big hotel bed while DH stayed down in the bar to drink with his cousins. If I'd been stuck there until late waiting to go home I can imagine it would have worn thin.

Gosh I’m assuming you are staying... otherwise get yourself home!

Go to bed - the others are right, especially if you're staying in the wedding hotel and pregnant with dc1. tbh if you're pregnant or have young children weddings are just shit. Some people claim to like an excuse to get away from their own children, but if you have a babysitter then there are so many much better ways to spend a rare child free evening!

It’s miserable! I was 35 weeks pregnant at a family wedding 2 hours away. My lovely Seraphine dress never arrived, had to wear the same black maternity dress I wore to work and my husbands creepy uncle kept resting his hand on my arse during the photos. As I wasn’t drinking, I was the designated driver for hubby and PIL. I can’t believe I agreed to it 🤪. Never again. Sneak off with potential Braxton Hicks and get a cab back to your room xxx

Nope not staying so no room 😢 have been here for 9 hours… on the positive side I’m driving so will be dragging DP home verrryyy shortly!

9 hours🙄 I hope you are now well on your way home if not already tucked up in bed

I did it at 24 weeks and it was shit! Didn't help there was a free bar, was very sad i had to miss out on that lol

Meant to go to a reception at 12 weeks and have told DH he is going solo!

Weddings pregnant are crap!!
