I had this occasionally from around 30 weeks until I gave birth. Had it checked at the hospital, very protective DP, but wasn't anything to worry about.

it's due to the baby pressing on a nerve i think, quite common

pud1 · 29/11/2007 15:24

make sense. not to impressed with it though.

When mine was checked the baby's head was very low which I think was what was causing it.

pud1 · 29/11/2007 15:27

does very low mean engaged ( can you tell i am a first timer)

it can be low without actually being engaged

pud1 · 29/11/2007 15:31

i bet thats it then, baby was head down at about 26 weeks which mw said was soon but nothing to be bothered about so it stands to reason its quite low due to gravity. or maybe thats my not at all logical mind

I was getting it from 14- 16 weeks. It's sort of at the front rather than where you would expect. If you see what i mean? I've no idea what it is! I had a scan at 14+4 and baby was fine so none the wiser. I can't stop laughing at 'lady area'. I'm totally going to say that at every opportunity now.

I get this too and am only 14 weeks, feels like I'm being stabbed but only lasts for a couple of seconds. I'm sure I had it with my other pregnancies too.

Hayleyandbaby · 30/11/2007 11:38

Yep that's exactly the feeling!!! I doubt it's anything to worry about. brings a tear to the eye tho
