Hi hope someone can help

1/11/07 had blood in urine and had another sample sent to hospital lab which was negative

29/11/07 today there was blood++, protein+, ketone+, glucose+, ph6, leucogtes++

I have been put on a 5 day course of antibiotics just incase i have a UTI, but im not showing any symptoms other than what is coming up in the urine. Im feeling really concerned about so much being thrown up in the urine at once. I was woundering this has happened to others and what there outcome has been.

Im also concerned because my last baby was premature at 34 weeks and I will be 32 weeks tomorrow, even though this didnt happen last time, last time my waters broke

Thanks in advance

you can have a UTI without symtoms, so it's right that you are taking antibiotics.

The ketones could indicate that you are not always eating enough. Were you hungry when you gave the sample?

belgo · 29/11/2007 13:56

have you had any other symptoms of illness?

Camillathechicken · 29/11/2007 13:59

leucocytes are discharge i think from the vagina? blood could be connected to vaginal discharge or to a UTI

one + of protein and glucose is not a huge worry.. ketones might indicate you are not eating enough, as belgo said

was your BP and everything else ok?

pgTips04 · 29/11/2007 13:59

I wasnt hungry at all and as for other symptoms i have only had pain down one leg, so i doubt it would be to do with that. thanks for quick responce

aren't leucocytes the white blood cells which would be caused by a UTI? someone correct me if I'm wrong

Camillathechicken · 29/11/2007 14:04

no, i think you are right belgo, and i am getting mixed up !

pg, i think you should give your MW a call, she can set your mind at rest.

pgTips04 · 29/11/2007 14:07

I think I will try to get hold of her, hopefully she can put my mind at rest. Thx again x

most likely all those things in your urine have been caused by a symptomless UTI (I've also had symptom less UTIs in pregnancy). Antibiotcs will clear it up, and drink plenty of water.

Hope your midwife can reassure you
