Currently 8 weeks pregnant and suffering really badly with indigestion and constant burping. I didn’t expect this as a symptom of pregnancy! When does the burping stop??!

For me, it was pretty much constant along with heartburn until I gave birth

LBirch02 · 11/08/2021 15:45

Oh no don’t think I can take much more Grin my boyfriend thinks it’s hilarious! He thinks avoiding spicy foods will settle my stomach

I had HG until 5 months in, then I had daily heartburn until the baby arrived but the MOST fun and chronic symptom was the farting. From the beginning to end. DH thinks it's hilarious because I'm uptight about flatulence. Grin

I have this quite a bit but not the indigestion part. I hiccup a lot too, usually after a spout of burping, does anyone get this?

LBirch02 · 11/08/2021 16:03

Yes I hiccup much more than I used to !

Phew! Others I mentioned it to hadn’t suffered with an abnormal amount of hiccups, I thought I was odd Grin

LBirch02 · 11/08/2021 16:28

You’re not odd at all it often catches me by surprise!!

I’m currently 10+6 weeks and have been burping (and other types of errrr burp) since week 4/5. I’ve been home working since March 2020 and I’m not sure I’d be able to hide my burping in the office! I’m a bit worried about everything I’ve read about heartburn later…….

LBirch02 · 11/08/2021 16:49

I am working in an office currently and had to come home cos of indigestion. I’ve also been burping for weeks - I thought pregnancy would be a lovely feminine time! Grin

I burped throughout. The burps used to get trapped in my stomach so I had to tilt myself to the left while sat up to dislodge them. Huge, thunderous burps. Stopped the second he was born mind you.
Asda’s version of liquid gaviscon helped. £4 a bottle.

LBirch02 · 11/08/2021 16:59

Thanks for the tip. I feel I need to get something - it’s like just eating a packet of crisps and I’m burping for half an hour! Grin

Oh dear it’s hit you already! Grin I’m 38+3 and can’t stop burping, I’m soooo over it! I was like this in my first pregnancy as well. Luckily it only hits me in the third trimester though Shock all the best with your pregnancy and I hope the burping subsides although tbh I wouldn’t hold out too much hope, just one of the joys! Grin

LBirch02 · 11/08/2021 21:39

Thank you - good luck with the upcoming birth! I was hoping that when I finally get a noticeable bump the burping will subside! Sounds like chance would be a fine thing!

My first symptom of pregnancy. I take omoperzole and anti sickness tablets for it. Not much fun, but easier on the tablets.

ttcSam · 12/08/2021 07:33

Yes,100%. It was bad at the beginning and painful! It eased off throughout the second trimester but has returned the past week or so as the heartburn has picked up. Currently 32 weeks.

LBirch02 · 12/08/2021 07:49

This was my first symptom of pregnancy as well!

I’ve been doing pregnancy yoga and every time I change position, I can feel a burp bubbling up that I have to stifle! I’m 33 weeks and it’s been worse in the last couple of weeks definitely!
