Hi all.
I'm 32 weeks pregnant almost 33.
Last night during the night I woke up and my pyjamas bottoms were soaking i knew straight away I had peed myself. I went back to sleep and woke up with a severe burning sensation down there and a urge to pee constantly and feels like I'm dribbling quite a bit. There hasn't been any pain other than the burning. I have a left a urine sample in with the drs as can't get a appointment and can't get in contact with midwives... does anyone know is this normal?

It sounds like a UTI. Can you go up to the maternity unit at hospital? Or phone your community midwife team. A UTI in pregnancy needs prompt attention

I was able to leave a urine sample in my GPS office and have to ring after 4 for results, unsure what to do if it comes back clear and burning sensation is still there and pain in lower abdomen

I’d call your early pregnancy unit if the GP says it’s negative or aren’t helpful. You ask if it’s normal and I’d say no, not a normal part of pregnancy. It does sound like an infection so you defo need some help from a medical professional. Good luck x

Why the early pregnancy unit? I'm almost 33 weeks? This is my second pregnancy but I'm scared of the lower abdominal pain, burning I've had all day aswell as the bed wetting.

Sounds like classic UTI symptoms. Get into your triage unit or whatever you have in your area, or walk in centre if nothing from GP

I'd go to A&E with this. You don't want it to turn into a kidney infection.

Raera · 11/08/2021 16:25

I don't want to scare you but could the wet jamas actually be your waters going?
Happened to me. GP thought UTI.
DD was born next day at 29 weeks. She's getting married on Saturday so obviously fine!

Mammyofasuperbaby · 11/08/2021 16:26

I had this at 13 weeks and it was a utility. I went to my local sexual health clinic as directed by 111 and was given a prescription for anti bionics and it cleared up in a few days

Mammyofasuperbaby · 11/08/2021 16:26

UTI not utility

Josie9998 · 11/08/2021 16:47

Thanks everyone. Contacted gp but saying urine clear, still the burning sensation, keep getting twinges of pain down below and across bottom of stomach and feel a lot of pressure. But they aren't no where as intense as contractions, if it doesn't ease in a few hours im going to ring maternity unit or out of hour doctors as not sure who to contact I am more uncomfortable than in pain, think the bed wetting was defiantly me wetting the bed instead of waters breaking as I had this issue with first pregnancy around 36 weeks and it wasn't my waters

Are u sure it was pee and not your waters ? Think if your in pain give the hospital a call and get seen x

HalloHello · 11/08/2021 17:41

100% need to call maternity triage at the hospital. UTIs can be dangerous if left untreated in pregnancy

Tulipvase · 11/08/2021 17:45

Amniotic fluid has a very different smell to urine. If you are still dribbling, I’d have a little smell…..

Be careful. Go to hospital if need be.

My doctors did an in-house look at my urine samples more than once but didn't pick up that l had a rare urine infection. Surgeries don't have the same facilities as a lab would.

It was during a hospital appointment and l was doing my sample that they discovered the infection.

I had to spend 5 days in hospital on IV antibiotics.

Go get checked ASAP. When I was pregnant a few years ago I didn't realise I had a uti (no burning/ stinging etc). I ended up going into labour at 5 months.

BugMummy · 11/08/2021 19:13

I've got a UTI with no symptoms which was only found out by the sample being sent to the lab. They've also found out I have Strep B. I have no symptoms of anything (other than HG).
