Coping with the 1st tri tiredness

I’m only about 6 weeks and I’m absolutely exhausted. Like, can barely even be bothered to go from the sofa to the bed kind of tired. I just have no energy or get up and go in me at all (it probably doesn’t help that I wasn’t exactly the most energetic person pre pregnancy anyway...).

Please tell me it gets better?! If not, does anyone at least have some tips? I really just don’t want to do anything, I just want to lay all the time.

It does get better, but not for a while yet, and then it gets worse again in 3rd tri!

Just rest and nap when you can, not much more you can do :)

Weeks 6-10 I was having to nap multiple times a day to get through, so I totally sympathise. I was very energetic pre pregnancy so it’s been a pretty hideous change of pace for me if I’m honest.

I’m at week 13 now and it’s definitely getting better, but I’m nowhere near my normal energy levels at all. I can cope with just one nap over lunch now though which is great! It’s a good job I’m working from home.

People keep promising me it’ll get better in 2nd tri. I’m crossing everything that it’s true!

Don't worry the first trimester exhaustion hits you like a wall but weirdly it suddenly (like overnight) stops too! I reckon I was like it for 3 or 4 weeks though. Would go to work and come home and literally lie down the minute I came in! Bed really early. So odd!

Second trimester much easier!

Redpanda21 · 10/08/2021 15:25

I can’t cope with it! Sorry to say mine has got worse. I’m 12+5 today.

I work full time in an office and I can barely keep my eyes open. I’ve had to request to wfh for a couple of days a week as I feel like I’m trying to stay awake while having an anaesthetic!

Just remember in the first trimester your body is literally building a small person and a placenta so needs to use all your energy up!
Just rest as much as you can
