Hello, wondering if anyone on here has any advice..

I am 38+2 with my second baby, my first was born naturally at 38+1.
I went for a sweep today at my midwife appointment but unfortunately she was unable to carry it out as said my second opening (not sure what that means) was closed and she couldn't get a finger in. I'm devastated as I honestly thought I was already in early labour by the pains Iv been having.

I'm wondering if the same thing as happened to anyone else and labour has still started not long after?

Also thinking about asking for another attempt in a couple of days time to see if I'm any closer then?

My anxiety is through the roof I'm really struggling to get through each day and I'm just so desperate for this to all be over and have my baby here now.

I think it means your cervix is has started to open a bit at the front, but still closed at the back so she can’t get in fully. It’s good news that it’s started to open, it means things are happening!

I had a sweep like this and gave birth 3 days later.

This happened to me when I went for my sweep but went into labour the next day so whether it still did something!!!

That's great! It's nice to still have some hope of meeting my baby this week
