Low productivity in work...anyone else?!

I'm 25 weeks and feeling like my productivity is at an all time low! I have quite an intense (in terms of mental capacity and brain power required) desk job, my back hurts from sitting down all day and I'm finding that my brain just doesn't work! Anyone else feeling similar?

I'm 12 weeks and feel the same already! Doesn't help that I forget everything almost instantaneously, memory has not been great during pregnancy. Have no desire to be productive at work and have to push myself to do something some days.

Hunkydory99 · 09/08/2021 12:50

Yes! I’m 30 weeks and can’t do my normal job in its fullness. Loads of admin and tasks to do but I just cannot be bothered. Thinking of bringing my mat leave forward to 37 weeks instead of 38! Doesn’t help I’m struggling to sleep suddenly, despite being shattered. Yet I hate myself for moaning as I’m so grateful to be pregnant! All the best to you both, if you find any motivation will you send some my way?!

AngelaChasesBestLife · 09/08/2021 12:59

Absolutely the same, and 25 weeks here too. Thought a week's leave might have helped but nope, brain is still checked out

mooloop · 09/08/2021 13:04

Yep absolutely the same, 28 weeks and counting down the days to mat leave!!

Mum5687 · 09/08/2021 13:28

Glad it's not just me! I just feel so ready to be a mum that I want to spend my time organising stuff for baby and getting excited! I think I usually mentally check out for Christmas by the middle of November so it's not surprise really Grin

Yeppp. This is literally me. I am 15 weeks and have no motivation at work at all!!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 09/08/2021 14:03

Yep, 21 weeks and my focus is gone.

Which is not good, because I'm self-employed Blush

BigGooseyLucy · 09/08/2021 14:58

Can work supply you with a supportive chair and adopt your desk for you for your aches ?

P.s I feel the same , can't focus on work and don't really want to! Grin

ChaiTRex · 09/08/2021 18:20

I can barely concentrate on work. I just don’t care about any of it… all seems pretty insignificant compared to bringing a tony human into the world.
Sometimes I set a timer and get as much done as I can, and that helps. Like how you set a “room cleaning” timer for a child lol

Dinosaurus86 · 09/08/2021 19:34

I’m also 25 weeks and have pretty much lost any motivation I had at work, together with my concentration (except for researching baby things!) I have no advice but I am starting mat leave rather early (not possible for many of course)!

Mum5687 · 10/08/2021 08:48

Definitely could have written each of these posts! I agree that work just doesn't feel as important anymore! I can't wait for ML and I'm considering not going back afterwards but will see! I'd like a second baby fairly close in age so I might go back after the first and not after the second!

It’s so good to hear that other people are feeling like me 😂 I’m 20 weeks and thankfully have 2 weeks holiday coming up, I’m hoping that break gives me so new motivation haha

But when you are on countdown to mat leave I’m not sure it will! Xx

Redpanda21 · 10/08/2021 09:22

I’m just under 13 weeks and I’m really struggling to focus. I’m just exhausted all day long and regularly drop off around 2-3pm.

I hope this disappears as it’s really affecting my work

InTheNightWeWillWish · 10/08/2021 09:30

Me too! I’m 24 weeks. I’m stuck in an awkward place of not being motivated enough to do my job while I’m still at work but also panicking because it doesn’t look like my cover will be starting when I want them too to allow a sufficient handover. Yet, if I had motivation I could be starting my own hand over notes and getting everything in order 🤦‍♀️

cravingmilkshake · 10/08/2021 09:44

Yup- 30 weeks with twins and have lost concentration. Really beginning to wind down and spending most of my time wfh washing baby clothes and getting prepped.

10 working days to go (finish on 26th August)

PorkChopsAndSpuds · 10/08/2021 10:02

I am 33 weeks and really struggling now. I can't concentrate on anything. I am not sleeping well, my hips hurt and I constantly wake throughout the night needing to switch positions. Like others I just want to nest and sort everything out in the house so we are ready for the baby to arrive. It feels like we still have so much to do.
I have a week off for a holiday next week so when I return I will have 3.5 weeks left till I go on Mat leave but every day feels like a week at the mo. I don't want to wish the time away, I just don't want to work Grin

BeastOfBODMAS · 10/08/2021 10:11

I am struggling to focus/care very much at 24 weeks - but my work have a history of inventing ‘projects’ that never get completed because management don’t put in the last 10%, and I cba starting anything new now.
They’ve also made no steps towards organising maternity cover so I’m pre emptively resenting having to train cover in a rush at the end, or coming back off leave to a years worth of catch up and mistakes to fix.
Only 12 1/2 working weeks left until none of those things are my problem!

Jeds55 · 10/08/2021 10:37

I'm feeling exactly the same. 25 weeks now and just can't be bothered with work. Getting crap sleep and have a 3 year old so tired all the time and heartburn driving me mad. I've got some time off from next Weds so just trying to crawl towards that. Haven't sorted anything for baby yet either

Ameteurmum · 13/08/2021 15:54

I changed roles in early pregnancy from a job that was really intense and faced paced and constantly plays spinning to a role that’s a lot quieter with just peaks and troughs of being busy. I’m also WFH so currently lying on my bed watching love island with my phone next to me incase something kicks off 🙈😂 I see it as my reward for years of being non stop! It really suits me as I have no motivation and get too uncomfortable sitting down for too long!

Kittysw · 15/08/2021 21:57

Wow these all sound so much like me. I'm 30+3 and have zero motivation, also work still have no idea on cover for my mat leave and as others have said it will no doubt be a rush handover so when I return will be loads of mistakes and such to sort out. I'm seriously ready to finish now. I am trying to hold out until at least 37 weeks.
