@Icklemissgem A speculum exam showed my cervical ectropion.
They don’t scan here for repeat bleeding - the NICE guidelines say repeat scans can raise anxiety, as they don’t provide any reassurance that things are still okay a few days later, so they won’t do it here. They put it down as spotting unless it gets heavy enough to fill a pad within two hours. You can, apparently, push for a visual exam of your cervix, but I don’t think that’s common.
But like I said, mine stopped almost immediately at 12 weeks and I’ve had nothing since, so it might stop for you as your hormones regulate, too. If it doesn’t, they may well treat it as part of pregnancy for you, if you don’t have any other concerning symptoms. By itself, small amounts of red spotting is quite common, and doesn’t mean anything bad.
They couldn’t see much on my 12 week scan to reassure me about the bleeding, just that it wasn’t a hematoma - I think erosion can only be diagnosed visually, or that’s what they do here. But it was a reassuring scan, and my 20 week scan was nice; too.
All the best to you
