Rib pain at 31 weeks

Is it normal to have rib pain in pregnancy? It seems to be right across both sets of ribs around where my bra sits! Gets worse if I've been sat
up not moving about for a while. Blood pressure is fine and no protein in urine so don't think it's PE. The pain isn't unbearable but definitely something I can notice is there!

Anyone else have this?

I had rib pain on one side on my last pregnancy. It resolved the day I gave birth but it was unbearable at that point - I can't remember if it gradually got worse or how it evolved.

I said it to my consultant every time I saw him after it started and I think he suggested that something must be pressing on something, take some paracetamol!

As in that was the advice he gave me, not suggesting you take paracetamol OP!!

I may try some paracetamol if that helps! It's gone off at the moment but I've got a day off work ahead of me sitting at a laptop so I feel like it will be back soon!

I had rib pain from 24-26 until delivery. The pain was on my right side, it was baby's foot firmly planted in my rib, I was checked for pe thou by my consultant. my lord it's sore take painkiller if it's bad change position standing up/ slighting blot up right, also have a look at a thing call rib flare

It's just started for me the last few days and I had it last time as well, was told it was baby's foot wedged in (based on her position) as had none of the alarming symptoms. Same again this time, I'll assume it's a foot unless anything else occurs. I'd be glad tbh as this one was breech last time I got checked!

So keep a good eye on symptoms as you are doing but mine didn't resolve til birth... I'm trying to remember what helped posture wise because it's really uncomfortable isn't it, you have my sympathies OP!

Yes it’s normal. It was never as bad as the dagger up the vagina pain I used to get !!!
