Just curious if anyone who got the vaccine is happy that they got it. I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant and got 1st dose yesterday

Yes. My immune system has been very weak this pregnancy. It took 5 days to recover from norovirus and even a cold has wiped me out for longer than necessary. I have had both doses and feel happier knowing that if I catch coronavirus during my pregnancy the symptoms will hopefully be lessened.

JackJack84 · 08/08/2021 15:13

Yes I brought my second dose forward cos I couldn't wait to be fully vaccinated

teaparty020 · 08/08/2021 15:28

I just did my 2nd jap this morning and I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant. I had my 1st one before I'm pregnant and still glad that I already took the japs. Smile

Yeah
My husband caught covid two weeks after I had my first jab and I didn’t have a single symptom despite sharing a bed.
It would have been impossible managing the two kids if we were both as ill as him for a week.

I was on the fence about it but now fully intend to get it. Similar to @snowy0wl I just caught a cold from our toddler - when not pregnant colds don’t usually trouble me much but this one has wiped me out, which was a real wake-up call about how bad Covid could potentially be. So I’m going to get my jab as soon as I’m over this cold.

Had both doses, perfectly happy.

There’s about 476 similar threads every day with lots of women who are really comfortable with their decisions.

Had my jabs at 5 and 13ish weeks and so glad I did, feel much more confident about going out and about now with covid rates as high as they are, otherwise I'd have to be much more cautious and not see others indoors etc.
Covid rates are still really high in the UK so anyone left unvaccinated is a sitting duck really. It's just not what you need in pregnancy!

Yes, very happy. I’m now fully vaccinated, and have older DC at school so can feel more confident about them being able to go about their normal lives without me worrying, and that my baby should have some antibodies when it’s born.

Cafeaulait27 · 09/08/2021 07:57

Yes I feel much more relaxed. I’m now fully protected 2 weeks after my 2nd jab and I’m 31 weeks now xx

No, not experimental vaccine going into my body thanks. I've worked directly in the face of 'COVID' for the whole pandemic. I've been fine.

SouthwestSis · 10/08/2021 17:43

The vaccine is not experimental, it's gone through extremely rigorous safety tests and 4.4 billion doses have now been given.
OP there's a great video at the bottom of this page about how the vaccine has been developed, tested and approved for safe use www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/safety-and-side-effects/
