I had a scan yesterday as at my routine midwife appt last week my fundal height measurement was a week behind. Turns out I have very low amniotic fluid levels and baby is around the 5th percentile (after measuring normally at the 20 week scan). No birth defects can be seen and kidney/bladder/stomach are working properly they say..
They've said its likely pre-eclampsia is causing it but I have no symptoms of this, despite having it with my 1st child. Consultant has referred me to fetal medicine later this week but has anyone been through this? They've said the aim is to get me to 34 weeks..

Hi, I am currently just over 36 wks and have had low fluid for about 6/7 weeks. It's been stable but low. At the moment baby is growing along the same line so they are sticking with my c-section date of 31st Aug but they might bring it forward if anything changes. I am being monitored weekly but they have no idea what has caused it. Are you having frequent monitoring?

Thanks for replying, it's all very worrying so hearing from someone else is helpful.

So, today's scan showed fluid is up from below 7cm to 9cm which is good but baby still riding the 3rd percentile.. They are going to do another growth scan next week. Blood flow to baby was all fine and no birth defects detected which is really good. Just don't understand why it's happening. They can't tell me why my fluid is low or why she is small.. At my 20 week scan she was on the 80th percentile so it's not like she's been a little dink this whole time.
