Hi everyone I'm 19 weeks pregnant and I'm 18 stone yesterday i had a gender scan at window to the womb i had a scan with them last year with my son and it was a great experience

Yesterday from moment I went in room the woman just seemed like she didnt want to scan me she cheekily said hold all of your stomach up then she found the baby and turnt to the girl taking notes and said I dont even think the 4d will go threw this (meaning my stomach)
She was just really rude the way she spoke even when asking me to turn over she then said to me she couldnr see gender as cord was down and my bmi is very high its restricting view ( ano I'm overweight but it was her attitude and the way she was speaking me ) the scans ment be 20 mins I was in 5 max she also let the woman before me get up walk around for 5 mins then scanned her again yet tryed nothing with me to try even get good scan pic or gender she just seemed as soon as she seen my weight she didnt want to try scan me made me feel like I shouldn't expect anyone be able scan me because my size
I felt so upset and embarrassed I couldn't wait to get out
They have offered me a rescan but it's a week after my 20 week scan at hopsital

I really dont think I want to go back and feel like that again I paid for a nice experience and ended up nearly crying in the place my partner was wanting to complain in the place but I just wanted to leave
Should I email them and say again ano my weight is an issue but her attitude was so nasty she made me feel disgusting I'm actually dreading my 20 week scan in hospital now and thinking of cancelling my gender reveal party as I might not even find out gender

What would you do and has anyone had similar experiences tia

I was 18 stone in my pregnancy, had the normal 12 and 20 week scans and then about 2 or 3 more later in pregnancy ( all NHS the later ones were due to growth concerns). The only time my weight was mentioned was at booking but more in context of due to your BMI we advise a gestational diabetes test at x weeks. Test was negative and BMI was never mentioned again.
They took a while to find my sons sex at the 20 week scan because of his legs but the scanner was lovely and determined to figure it out Grin

@budgun

The scan pic and gender aside, did she manage to get all of the measurements etc done? That's the point of the scan - if she has taken 5 mins and not 20 i would be concerned that she hadn't performed the scan effectively. I would raise this with your midwife.
@budgun It was a private scan. There is no 'point' as such, it's not a medical scan for measurements etc.

OP, you've paid for a service which was performed badly, rudely and was a quarter of the time you were told it would be. Complain and ask for a refund.

I'm shocked she'd be so cruel and ruin what was meant to be a lovely experience. Def complain and get your money back, you deserve it, and shouldn't have to pay for a crappy upsetting experience. Obviously she has some issues to be so unkind
