Second Twin Pregnancy

Hi All,

How many of you have gone on to have a second twin pregnancy? I have 5 year old non identical girls and I am currently 10 weeks pregnant.

When I was pregnant first time I had no symptoms at all other than tiredness. This time around I am constantly feeling sick, tired and can absolutely smell everything. Anyone else been in the same boat but have just gone on to have a singleton. I really expect to see another set of twins when I go for my first scan in a couple of weeks just on the basis of how I have been feeling!

Yep I've had all those symptoms in each of three pregnancies, and only ever had singletons. Currently got them all this time too, but haven't had a scan yet!

You do have an increased chance with a history of fraternal twins. I know there are families with multiple sets of fraternal twins but it's rare.

I didn't feel too bad in the 1st trimester with our fraternal twin girls, they came after 3 singletons. I felt terrible in the 1st trimester this time, I was sure they would tell me twins again at the dating scan but just the one in there. Still thought maybe there was another hiding away until I had more scans. I've had people asking me if this one is twins most of the 2nd half of the pregnancy, just one very big girl! I would happily have twins again, hubby wants to try again for a boy at some point so could happen.

My early symptoms got stronger with each pregnancy I think it's very common.

Not me personally but I dated a guy who's parents had twins, a singleton and then another set of twins.

It’s more common that people think. I personally know 4 women with 2 sets and one with 3 sets. One set is enough for me!

My Second fraternal twin pregnancy are due to arrive shortly, my first set are two years old and fraternal boys. First sign with both pregnancies is the 24 hr nausea and vomiting…
