I had my copper coil fitted 2.5 years ago, had no issues with it, my period was due just over 2 weeks ago, my periods usually start with spotting for a couple of days then get heavy for a couple of days then taper off over another few days, lasting 8-9 days. So my period seamed to arrive on time with the spotting, but it stayed at spotting and lasted 4 days then nothing else at all, it seamed odd but I didn’t think much of it, I recently had my second Covid jab and have read a lot of stories about period life after the Covid jab, so 13 days later I began bleeding heavy out of nowhere! I was a bit freaked out, called my gp, she said as long as there is no sever pain anywhere I will be ok providing this doesn’t happen all of the time I said no it’s completely a one off! So the next day I was still bleeding heavy and my coil came tumbling out! Again I called my gp and she said to take a pregnancy test as my coil could have been in the wrong place for sometime before falling out, weeks perhaps she said. I was out for the day 3 hours from home so when I got home late last night I popped to my local 24 hour shop and bought a first response, baring in mind I’m still bleeding heavy so pregnancy was the last thing on my mind but my gp said to take one, it came out with an extremely faint line! My gps was closed and Early this morning I took the other test (was 2 in the box) this one doesn’t have a faint line it’s negative, Iv checked back on the other test I took yesterday and still Definitely 2 pink lines just one very very faint. I fear this may have been a pregnancy that I wasn’t aware of and Iv miscarried and just managed to catch the end of the hormones being flushed out on yesterday’s test which are now even lower this morning hence today’s negative? I don’t know I feel so confused. What does everyone else think? I did say to my partner after my period 2 weeks ago (the spotting only period) when my breasts stayed very tender and I couldn’t get to sleep at night, that If I didn’t have this coil in I would have thought I was pregnant, I don’t know why I had said that to him but I’m worried now that I was, and that ignoring it has caused a miscarriage by not having my coil removed. I feel sad, confused, annoyed at myself that I didn’t go and take a test 2 weeks ago when it had crossed my mind. What does everyone think could have happened?
