Hi, hoping someone can help. I’m 25 &
I’m 5 days late today & and usually clockwork every 4 weeks on the dot. I’m not on any contraception however we use condoms or withdrawal (not legit I know). All tests negative but only cheapies.
My boobs ache a bit and some really really mild cramping (could just be in my mind though!!). Can anyone advise? Is it worth me getting a clear blue? Or waiting a bit longer to test again if nothing happens.
I feel chances are low but there’s still a chance. We’re not trying but either way it doesn’t matter if we were pregnant. Thanks in advance ladies!

Hi lovely. In the gentlest way possible, if you have periods and you are having sex, there is always a possibility you could be pregnant. If you are 5 days late then a pregnancy would definitely show on a good quality test. If cost is an issue you could make an appointment with your GP who will be able to test your urine. Best of luck

Sounds like pregnancy symptoms to me but equally could just be a weird cycle! If the tests are negative I would try a more sensitive one. If that's negative maybe wait it out or you could call the GP?

Thanks for getting back to me ladies I really appreciate it! I’m going to TRY and wait it out until Friday/Saturday to hit the week mark & if still nothing I’ll get a clear blue.
My only PMS usually is bad cramps and that’s it I’ve always been lucky in that front which is why the boob pain is a bit of a different one for me!
Pregnancy is definitely a blessing but would be a big shock!

Pregnancy shouldn't really be a 'big shock' based on you using zero contraception beyond withdrawal. As PP said - you're having periods (so you're presumably ovulating) and having unprotected sex.

Stick with FRER tests, they're far and above other tests which aren't as sensitive.

Have you had either of your COVID jabs recently? I’ve seen a lot of posts where it has thrown some ladies cycles off for a month or 2.

At 5 days late I’d be expecting to see something on a test by now, but equally could just be that you need a better quality test.

Greenmarmalade · 04/08/2021 10:42

Covid jabs have messed with my cycle for 2 months.

Greenmarmalade · 04/08/2021 10:43

If you’re really using ‘withdrawal’ as contraception then take folic acid daily

DoodleBelle · 04/08/2021 10:45

I’d get a more sensitive test and try again. Also as PP said if you’ve had a COVID jab recently that could be the reason for a late period.

My first jab was start of jan second start of March and my period was heavy after but no change in the cycle times itself.
Can I ask why folic acid if using withdrawl?
I feel like I’m learning new things already on here!

The withdrawal method is only about 80% effective so you should be taking folic acid as there's a chance of pregnancy.
